Well Madam LeBeaux must have mistaken the "alligator arms" on the Pointers for the "alligator leg" of the EC kicker. Missed chip shot FG and one EP was the difference in the end. Reluctant props to SP for hanging tough and driving for the game winner. Hey EC ever heard of covering somebody with 26 seconds left.  Crazy game. ::).

Hey stealth - the player, Jared Jenkins, who scored the game winner this week? He was the one who scored the game winner and 2-point conversion against the Warhawks. We should have seen it coming!  ;) But he was one-on-one for the last play today. Ouch...

Heartbreaker and a disappointing loss for UWEC, as the Pointers squeak out yet another one. Have to give them credit for playing great D, hanging around again, not letting teams KO them, and being able to put up just enough points to pull out Ws at the end...

I amend my statement on the one-on-one coverage on the last play of the UWEC-UWSP game; I only saw one DB in the picture on the TV clips.

But if the D3 photo on the home page is the last play of the game, the 'Golds had two guys back. Not sure; Jenkins scored all three TDs, though...

I don't know how long the Pointers can keep it up, but what a streak. Jenkins looked like an MVP today against a veteran EC secondary.
Once again, the Blugolds special teams let them down... not just Kolb, but the kick coverage on the last return.
As a footnote, Sartorelli had another amazing game.

As for the mascot, naming it Sully would ensure that a) EC would have a mascot with the "perfect face for radio" and b) they would need an XXXXXL costume!!!

I agree that neither WW nor SP have a cakewalk next week. This is still a great league.

The ball hung up for a long time. Time for help to come over too late.

What a weekend of games.  Thanks to the Hawks defense who came through to save the win!

Couldn't believe that the law of averages, if nothing else, didn't prevent the Pointers from pulling out a last minute/second win for the 3rd week in a row.  They seem to have the, "refuse to lose," mentality that the 07 Hawks had.

This week, I find myself in very unfamiliar territory....................wait for it....................fingers are revolting.......here it comes with great effort.............

Quick..........someone check because I think hell just froze over and pigs are flying!!!

Thank God Stout doesn't have a better offense.  First and goal on the one and eight plays later they kick a field goal.  Speaking of God he must have been on our side when the receiver dropped the sure touchdown pass.  Of course he must have been on their side when our guy dropped one that looked like it hit him in the stomach.  I guess it was a trade off.  We dropped a sure one, they dropped a sure one proving that God is actually ambivalent.

The penalties were assine.  Stout 14 for 121 yards, WW 12 for 144 yards.  At one point we had four penalties within the span of six plays and Stout hurt themselves when penalties moved them from their own 42 to the 17 after the interception with the score 17-10.

I'm afraid to ask what the time of possession was in the second half.  Our offense couldn't get a first down and the defense barely had time to get a drink of water before being summoned back onto the field.   Considering how much time they spent on the field the defense did a pretty decent job.

Always a pleasure to see you Stoutguy.  I was going to stop by afterward but you were busy wrapping up your broadcast.  I can't say that we really deserved to win that one.  The only good thing I can say about yesterday is that this morning when I opened the paper it said "five" in the lefthand column.  Good luck next week.

A sample of Cerroni quotes from the season in the local paper. Tough year in Oshkosh.

"It's just we have no ability to recover from mistakes. That's where we're at right now. You need to have leaders that take you to the next level and right now we're struggling with that."

"It's little things, but when you're just not any good it's the little things that add up."

"We're not at a point where we're trying to emphasize winning — we're just trying to compete."

OshDude, was that from one article or a compilation of a bunch of articles?

Dude....I think you're taking some of those a bit out of context.

Here's the context. You could be right, but judge for yourself.

Thanks Dude. I guess I have to say I don't think much of Cerroni's attitude. Looks like yet another mistake by Ackerman.

I would like to get a take on the Stout game at UWW from Saturday as I cannot believe that Stout seems to have shutdown the Warhawks and the box score shows such a different story from the score.  Any Devils that can tell the story, pelase do.  Thanks.

BoBo, I think you mistook janesvilleflash for myself...as I've stated a few times I am a Cerroni backer. I guess as a former player I take that bias with me for the long haul. Furthermore, the quotes Dude posted were taken out of context as there were as many positive statements made as negative ones.

Looks like the pressure is on SP and WW this week. Good to see the conference chapionship going down to the final week of the regular season as its been a few years since that has happened.
