Mr. Ypsi

Combine that d2 game with Brockport St. beating Hartwick, 70-68.  I wonder if there has ever before been a day when two teams scored 68 - and lost?! :o

retagent

I saw a graphic yesterday showing that the University of Florida football team outscored their Basketball team. I think it was 70  for the football team and 63 for BBall.

Boy did #13, Jay Hancock, stand out on special teams yesterday for the Hawks...making tackles and blasting through or over Johnnie blockers on the kickoff!

That one hit he had late in the game took my breath away and I was in the scorer's booth.   That one had to have hurt.

Another player who's been outstanding on special teams this year is #28, Derek Underwood.  It's seems like he's always one of the first to cover downfield and he's made numerous tackles.   Underwood was an outstanding running back in high school and was moved to defensive back because of the depth we have at the running back position.   He was also a very good receiver in high school and I always thought we should move him to wide receiver but we have depth there as well.   To his credit he took the move in stride and works hard at developing his coverage skills.

I was hoping our victory over the John would put an end to these stupid jokes but I see I hoping in vain.  :D ;)

Look at it this way - 3 out of the last 4 years we have had the Johnnies at the Perk and their fans on the WIAC board.  And after all the touchdowns, tackles, time outs and talk (and weak jokes) all of the Warhawk faithful have had reason to smile afterward.

Like this -  ;D ;D ;D ;D .
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Back in Des Moines from Stevens Point yesterday.
The Pointers fans I met were very accomadating, but where were all of them?
Knights fans darn near had them outnumbered yesterday. I don't know if they had a student in the crowd and the few fans that were there sat on their hands the whole time. Is it usually like that there?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Being from Iowa I find that a pretty lame excuse, but maybe I just don't understand the Wisconsin way of life.

Don't know what the total yardages were but the chain gang should be eligible for some kind of reward. Maybe a new pair of sneakers or some frequent flyer miles.  :) Thanks to the refs for "letting them play"

Interesting scoring line:

Division II playoffs -

                          1   2  3   4       TOTAL
West Texas A&M   14 20 20 14         68
Abilene Christian    21 21 37 14         93

Apparently, artificial noisemakeers, such as defensive ball players, were prohibited from attending this game.

Well stealth, let me tell you...

...Abilene Christian, now 11-0 on the season, gained 810 yards of total offense...
...The teams combined for 1,531 yards...Keith Null, who completed 42 of 63 passes, set a school record by throwing for 595 yards and seven touchdowns in the loss for West Texas A&M (11-2)...if you remember West Texas A&M was the school that hung 75 on Azuza Pacific earlier in the year & scored +49 points in a game 9 times this year...their only losses this year were to to Abilene Christian, giving up an average of 72.5 points in the two games...

Division II Abilene Christian scores record 93 points in playoff win

Congrats to the Warhawks on their victory.  Good luck the rest of the way.

Thanks for the beer, Flash.  It was much appreciated.  I'm sorry you had to put up with TDT the entire morning.
Go Johnnies!!!

BoBo

question for voice,

For 2 consecutive weeks now, my audio of the game broadcast has gone dead midway through the 3rd quarter - at nearly the same part of the game.  After the Platteville game I had my computer looked at by computer whiz and everything checked out...then it happened again last week.  Are you guys experiencing any technical problems on your end - or have you heard of anyone else having similar problems?  I had to tune into the Point/Wartburg game later, which upset me because people who read this board know my feelings of that radio team.

Hey Duff
The Crappies are hitting on Lake John south of Annandale. The ice is pretty thin, but some guys are willing to risk life & limb for fresh Crappies!
Give TC and Fins a call & we'll tip back some Hamm's and drop a line  ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Well, This week, at least, the game was over anyhow. ;D

To badgerwarhawk. If you guys can keep fielding teams like you  have in the past 4 years, we may get a chance to host you and pay back all that you have been so generous in doling out for that period of time. Since the Johnnies have made the playoffs in 15 of the past twenty years, I will assume that will not change.

Now that the Johnnies' season is over, I can turn my hopes and prayers towards getting a solid week-to-10 days of really cold weather before we start getting snow so the lakes can get some clear ice cookin'.  There's already a couple of inches on the bay by my house, but it will be at least into December before the rest of 'Tonka is ready to roll.

Once that happens, though, those crappies better be ready for the epic asskicking that's going to be unleashed.
