For the record....

According to David Hawkins of the National Association for College Admission Counseling "Exclusivity in regards to admission helps determine any colleges reputation...."

albeit 2006 numbers....

Whitewater - 77.5%
Willamette - 76.2%

I'll interpret for anyone who can't figure it out.... although Willamette is a much smaller school and supposedly "better," they admit the same percentage of their applicants as UW-Whitewater.

Wow...that's crazy.  So WU can admit 76% of their applicants and still maintain their class profile (3.74 GPA, 1240 OLD SAT, 27 ACT)?  What's goin on at UWW then?
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is...
Practice?  We talkin about practice???

You all might be sending OxyBob back into self-exile.  The last time he got p*ssed he pulled all of his posts and was gone all of three days.

Congrats to UWSP's Brad Vickroy, named WIAC Player of the Year...

As he notes in a story in today's Stevens Point Journal, defensive linemen just keep plugging away without much recognition...

Huge congrats from this Warhawk fan.  I do love the defensive side of the ball!   ;)

I've been reading this board on and off all year, so sorry if this has been posted already.....BUT, the visitors' stands at the perk have been condemned. Unfortunately that only leaves 10k seats for everyone.

The first home game that was in effect was the first playoff game against the St. Johns on November 22nd.. Seemed at that game there was plenty of seating...

OK, can't control myself finally with this public vs. private school crap....I have a son who attended UWW and played football and our family is guardian for a young man since high school who attends and plays basketball for the Elmhurst Bluejays. Both were/are excellent on their respective teams. Tuition/Room and Board at Elmhurst is well over $30,000 a year while out of state at UWW IS 16,000-18,000.....yet we pay far less for everything at Elmhurst than at UWW where we never got a $$$$....As was said players are not selected from the larger student body they are recruited just like the smaller private schools but I guarantee you that especially our out of state students pay way more. As for the Education program it appears to me UWW is simply a better program and is certainly comparable to Elmhurst programs in other areas......both seem to be fine schools. Every year is the same baloney with someone who lost pointing out their admission standards are higher .......unfortunately what is ignored is the finished product who has graduated. Their teams are not as good because Whitewater has better facilities, better coaching, and better players and they accomplish this without dangling as much money to recruits as smaller private schools. True Wisconsin is unique with only one DI football school and tuitions are comparably lower and that helps but the real reason for teams like Mount Union and UWW being successful every year is they just do a better job in all areas than the other schools......until the other schools realize that and improve in those areas they can continue to whine because the will continue to be a step or two behind......Pound the Rock guys and see you at the Perk this weekend.....

By the way I forgot.....Go Bluejays beat LaCrosse tonight....bad thing about basketball is there is no tailgating.....

I will do my little share in "packing the Perk"

Just get so tired of this big boys beat up the little boys!

Didn't big boy Stevens Point beat big boy Whitewater?

Champs07

Sakman..couldn't have put it any better.  I actually attended Wartburg for a year and payed way less money becuase suppossedly (see I don't even know if that's spelled right) I earned an acedemic scholarship for 10,00 dollars on top of the other bull sh.. scholarships private colleges offer.  I then went to Whitewater and payed out of state tuition along with at least 1/3 of the people who play, which is a heck of a lot more than I payed in Waverly.  But bottom line Whitewater's coaches are better, they work on the field and off the field a heck of a lot harder, and UWW athletes are considerably better for that!! The improvement a Whitewater, a MUC, MHB player make from the time they were freshman until the time the graduate is a significant difference compared to that of the lower echelon private schools because of coaching and facilites.  NOTHING to do with how many people go to school there!! I can't wait for the game.  Wartburg can't run the ball and don't match up in any phase of the game with UWW.  And don't tell me they beat Point...Point wasn't that good, UWW just played bad.  Besides its play-off time at the Perk...and we just don't lose!!! Go Hawks 44 - 10
