D O.C.

Very shifty program.      ::)

Everyone is acting assnine so I thought I'd do my part.

Apologies to Coach Bob Berezowitz.

...38 snaps in the 07 title game to be exact (but you wouldn't know much about title games, and whose really counting).

Wow...you really counted how many snaps you played?  I have to say that is a little sad.  Did you have a little pad and pen on the field to keep track?   :D

Hmm, if I'd played in a game on national television, I might have watched it on TV later once or twice. :)

Maybe it's a ploy,

But why would you want to give anyone an injury report on a public forum?  ???

And don't tell me that someone from  Wartburg is not reading these threads.

Just a question.

Sorry, but I'm just supporting the west, as I met some great fans when we played UW-W in '05. footballfan413 is the best.
I was at the game this last Saturday and was totally impressed. With so few Sr.'s the Warhawks are going to be  good for many years to come!

Go Purple!
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

If they are both ready to go then I'd love to see a 2 back set. With the O line playing they way they are and  the conditions being iffy for the deep passing game why not at least give it a few snaps. Both can block. Run some play action off of it to the TE down the seam. Could be a hell of a strike package and I'd bet a bunch of beer money that the O coachs aren't at least thinking about it.

sorry to change to the subject to actual football talk, but does anyone know who is sitting out during practices this week?? Is Coppage healthy again? If he is cleared to play, does anyone think he'll split his carries with Anderson. It'll tough to keep AA on the bench baed on how well he's been playing in the tourny.

I caught some of the practice in Madison. I think Coppage might play.

I think Anderson is both thunder and lightening. Seems to me he is faster in the open field than Coppage. Coppage is a master in working his way through a hole and finding open space though. Very shifty runner.

I'm not a college graduate, while Champs07 is one.

OK, recess is over, footballdaddy, it's story time and the teacher is going to read to the class from "Little House on the Prairie," go over and sit on the floor quietly next to your friends!!  ;)

That class is offered exclusively at WW.  Just ask OxyBob  ;)

I would love to see a 2 back set.  Was salivating about the possibility several years ago when Collin Burns and Justin Beaver could have played together but because of serious injuries, Burns, (concussions,) and Beaver had a serious hammie in 04, both were never healthy at the same time and it never seemed to work out.  Burns, the thunder, and Beaver would have been the lightening but from what I have observed, not sure that the offense is very interested in that.  Seems to be pretty set on a single back offense that has been run there for years but with our depth at RB.......................ya got to wonder.

Thanks for the good luck, Tuxguy.  Cat's fans are the best, too!

A 2 back set with Coppage and AA would certainly be a new wrinkle that furture opponents probably have not had the ability to prep for and/or give them one more thing to worry about. Sometimes, I would like to see a few more passing attempts directed at the RB's, also, just to let them see what develops in the open field.  However, it is sort of fun watching that O-Line just pulverize a helpless defensive line, like they did in the first half last week and what we are probably going to see again this week - with the back running through huge holes into open space.

Got to admit, I cringe whenever a poster asks about injuries for fear that someone will answer them.  It is a no-brainer to me that it is always better left a mystery.   8)

I'm one of the guilty posters, fbf413 - asking about injuries - mainly because I live so far away from the action...but I can assure you, rarely has anybody ever answered one of my requests for information...after your warning, I'm sure no one will ask in the future!!  ;)

Glad to see the talk is back to football!! ...think I really counted snaps hahaha(not that a wartburg alum could have, they have never played in a title game).  Bottom line...2008 Warhawhks WR's are gonna tear apart Wartburg's Manute Bol safety and their LB who resembles Webster!! UWW's oline pounds the rock all day and AA and the L train run for over 300 yards.  Whitewater in a laugher...44-10.  but you guys already knew that right??  Culver's crew....remember the free meal!!

Wow...Sakman you're right!! Don't be mad cause I get to where my NATIONAL TITLE RING around all weekend and watch my boys pound Wartburg all day!! And for those doing your stats I played in every game in 06 and 07...38 snaps in the 07 title game to be exact (but you wouldn't know much about title games, and whose really counting).  As far as stats I didn't have any your right but I did what it took to win games and for the rest of my life I can say I was a NATIONAL CHAMP!!  When a Wartburg player can say that...maybe I will talk to them.  That being said there were a lot good guys I met in Waverly that I still talk to today.  Funny thing was all but a couple transferred before they finished college.  Interesting!!!

First, Congrats on being a national champion.
I'm a (Coe College) Kohawk fan who has had to deal with the "humble" folk of Bremer County...
I'm curious as to why you and so many of your friends transferred out of Waverly?  I have often heard that W'burg "over-recruits" so that when freshmen get to camp, they "discover" that their chances of playing anytime soon are nil.  Has to be frustrating.  Would you say this is an accurate reason why most guys leave there or are there other reasons?   i.e. I know the HC has the personality of a doorknob and the town of Waverly is pretty small potatoes.  Anything else?
In the words of Bobby Knight: "I mean, I deeply hope we beat their ass today."

Wow alot has gone on since I last posted.  I wont even talk about the public and private cause its a total waste of typing.

Wartburg is simply outmatched.  In my opinion in general the Iowa conference isnt that great.  If Wartburg's LB's are undersized than it will be along day for Wartburg.

As for a 2 back set I really dont get it.  Anderson who has been great the last two games should get the bulk of the carriers and when he needs a spell Coppage should relieve him until 100%.

When they are both healthy the better of the 2 should start.  No reason changing a very good offense in the middle of the year.

Wartburg "over-recruits?" - Is that sour grapes from a Coe fan?
