Personality of a doorknob? Really? Have you ever had a conversation with the guy? Yes
Have you met many of the other IIAC coaches. Yes
A lot are cut from the same cloth. You gotta be kidding.  NO WAY

Preparing the field has been a challenge.  Evidently you can't just attach a brush to your John Deere and brush it off because it will remove the rubber pellets and damage the turf.  First they had to take PVC piping and place it over the the blade of a snowplow and then they had to follow that up by purchasing a special kind of brush (don't ask me what's special about it) that is designed to remove the excess without removing the rubber pellets.  Plus the equipment they use is also in use removing snow from the rest of the campus so scheduling is impacted.  I'm sure J Betz will have the field ready but I suspect he's hoping we don't get anymore snow before Saturday night.

Saw the crew at Central use the same type of equipment last year before the quarterfinal game against Bethel.  Trucks with snowplows and piping on them driving across the middle of the field, with some off-duty baseball players shovelling off the sidelines.  Interesting process when you figure that they had to do it 3 or 4 times when that game was delayed again and again.

I've been watching Wartburg football for lots of years and this battle over a kid who chooses to transfer from one college to another seems silly.  I'm happy that Mitch Moore found a happy home at UWW.  I'd never heard of Mitch Moore until a couple days ago, so it is probably unlikely that he would have been a difference maker for the Knights.  Not to say he wouldn't have played, but we finished up in 2nd place behind Central in the IIAC without him and we probably would have finished up in 2nd place with him.

Wartburg and Coe have had some kids move back and forth occasionally.  It gets some people (ex: kohawkfan) all in a dither, but we need to remember it is the student/athlete's decision.  It is not the decision of a bunch of has beens and never weres.  I personally would have preferred that Mitch would not have decided to air his opinions about his former teammates and coaches, but that is his choice.

I'm sure UWW is heavily favored in Saturday's game and rightfully so.  When you are defending national champions the favorite label stays with you until the end.  Position by position; I would say UWW has the upper hand.  Experience; I would say UWW has the upper hand.  Home field; I would say UWW has the upper hand.
It looks like UWW has the upper hand in everything.

So, only three things can happen:
1) UWW wins in a blow out
2) UWW wins in a close game
3) Wartburg lucks out and UWW plays its second bad game of the year, giving Wartburg an undeserved victory.

Prediction:
24-10, Wartburg's offense gets frustrated by the Whitewater pass rush. The running game is non-existent for them but they do get a big play out of the game. Wartburg's fans will immediately come onto the message board giving all kinds of excuses as in, "if such and such wouldn't have done this then it would be different" or the proverbial, "they should move up a division because their school is too big and 'dey R stoopid'." The Johnnies will also join in, give their two cents about the game, and then try and redirect the conversation involving any combination of Hamm's, ice fishing, or next year's Stiftungsfestivities(sp?).

Warhawk 96:  Win, lose or draw, I doubt if you will find Wartburg fans looking for or expressing excuses.  Generally after a loss you will find the majority of us licking our wounds, having a couple brews, and planning the next adventure.

I'm not going to get into smack talking or why Mr. Moore left Wartburg. I came on to this board to say Good Luck to UWW. Most of us know how good your program is and it will take a very special game from the Knights to win this game. But then again anything can happen of a given Saturday.   So again Good luck and hope for no serious injury to either team.

So you are saying the truth hurts you, Kohawkfan?  And hog said that it was Mitch's choice to air his grievances, so you are echoing what warthog said?  I think someone's been living a little too close to the 5 smells of CR and it has affected their reasoning skills.  Maybe you're upset that Coe, in all of their "greatness", has not won an outright IIAC title.  Get over yourself and support your IIAC brothers, or get out.

All you WIAC'ers and UWW supporters, I'm looking forward to stories from this weekend.  As a little brother school to THE party school in the country, I have a feeling the Perk Crazies will show our Knight faithful a great time!!  Heck, we might even be treated to a game for the ages.

I'm one of the guilty posters, fbf413 - asking about injuries - mainly because I live so far away from the action...but I can assure you, rarely has anybody ever answered one of my requests for information...after your warning, I'm sure no one will ask in the future!!  ;)

No problem, BoBo, as long as you now see the error of your ways!   ;) :D ;D

I was very problematic in my youth...I have mellowed greatly since!!   ;)

Not all yellow snow is bad. But I prefer to follow the Purple snow at the Perk.

There's only one way to find out if a man is honest...ask him. If he says 'yes,' you know he is a crook.

Sure they do, ever since your son provided me with that credit card number to use on e-bay this holiday season they've known.. He didn't cry or anything, so that's good...isn't it?

Injury free this Saturday!
