DF1:

Dr. Little Warthog also had an in-law family celebration in Manchester today.  I was listening to the game on the Johnnies radio network as we were crossing Iowa on US-20.  I'd call in an update at the end of each quarter.  Apparently I interrupted grace with my first call.   :-[  oops!

I have never heard a D3 radio broadcast that could match what St. Johns does.  It has to be a recruiting boost to have your games blasting all across your state and spilling 100 or more miles into neighboring states.  By the way there was no bitching or complaining by the annuncers.  They were better than the U of Iowa radio team, but that doesn't really say much.  Lets just say they were good.

DF2004, Gagliardi trophy voters left someone out? Fatherly tinted glasses on? Its all good. I was thinking the same thing. Did Central come out with a fire under their ass or did St.Johns just come out flat? Ask any of the Johnnie posters and I'm sure that they will tell you that it was a highly uncharacteristic contest.

Come on, guys -- the Gagliardi trophy is awarded (in true D3 fashion) to a player exemplifying excellence in athletics, academics and community service. I believe coaches/ADs/SIDs have the opportunity to nominate for this award. This award is so special because it not only recognizes and rewards the athletic achievement, but the academic and philanthropic side as well, which is ultimately what Division III is all about.

QuoteIt's time for Central to break the mold and go beyond again. But then there's Gagliardi and his staff who have been preparing for them for 3 weeks now. That presents a big problem if a team does not play near flawless ball and take advantage of any little chink Kofed might present.

What do you mean you can't quote yourself?
Bob Dylan's done it since 1961.

I, too, was taken back by Central's success passing. Time marches on. Ohio State finally learned to do it after the Woody debacle.

Retired Old Rat

Congratulations to Central on a dominating victory today.  You guys were on a mission today and executed nearly flawlessly.

Thanks for the hospitality extended to us.  Thanks to AD Al Dorenkamp for stopping by early this morning to welcome us to Central.

The fresh Dutch letters were awesome.  Unfortunately, it went downhill from there.

Congrats to Central. Looking forward to the trip to Pella next week as we broadcast the game for NCAASports.com.

Congratulations, Dutch!  I only got to listen to half of the game, but it sounded like it was all Dutch, all day.  Too much for the Johnnies this year.   :-[

Good luck!  Is there room on your bandwagon??? ;D

Pat, we will roll out the (obviously) red carpet for your visit!  Make sure you get to Jaarsma's bakery for some Dutch letters before those visitors from the North buy them out!   :D  I hear they can be the most enjoyable part of the trip to Pella for some folks.   :-*

Duffman, welcome aboard the Central bandwagon!  Looks like Bluenote was finally able to hop on board after a year or two of Dutch hatred.  Bluenote, we are still hoping to get a rematch with you guys sometime soon too.  We may have been on the winning side of our historic battle, but a nice decisive win is a better deal.  Maybe we have moved on from "Find a Way" when we had so many injured players to "Leave No Doubt" now that they are back in top form.  The NWC teams make for great match ups too.  I think Central played both Linfield and PLU to OT games with split results.

You cut-off the reminiscence a year early.  The best IIAC team was Central 11 years ago in the first 2 games of the 1995 season.  It was the year Kacmarinski was on the cover of Sports Illustrated.  I cancelled my Stagg Bowl plans when his leg got broken at Wartburg in the third game of the season.  They still went undefeated until they lost by a point in the first round of the play-offs.

Next year, if you ask which is the best IIAC team of the decade, the answer will be the 2007 Central team.
I don't mind quoting myself.  Remember last winter when we were talking about the IIAC team of the last decade?  Remember where you read it first.

Theres always room on the bandwagon.

Congrats to the Johnnies on a great season and to Central on continuing their season in a big way.
I would say this is a landmark type victory for the program and Coach Mac. The Johnnies have had our number for 20 years and to beat them convincingly is huge. It sure makes recruiting easier for Coach too!

Hopefully a ton of IIAC people and everyone else turns out Saturday to watch the Dutch roll on. Pat welcome to Pella, hopefully the Dutch can put on a show for you like this Saturday!

on a selfish side, this makes UD's 3OT loss to Central look all the better!!!
As an IIAC follower, I'm on the Central bandwagon for now (even though I hated them in basketball, damn Tosh Dillenger, still have nightmares about him!)..are they favored next game?

As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Congrats to the Dutch on an outstanding game Saturday. Enjoying listening to it the announcer's did a great job. I do have to be honest and say it hurts alittle more that the Knights didn't make the playoff's and that I believe they should have.  Ok now its time to get ready for Bethal. I'm on the Dutch bandwagon. (did I really say that). Do the IIAC proud.

GO KNIGHT'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO DUTCH  LEAVE NO DOUBT

Welcome aboard.  Any and all are welcome to join the Dutch bandwagon even if it is only till the end of the season.  It would be great to see any and all come out to the Bethel game on Saturday.  The Dutch letters and puff pillows (my personal favorite) will be waiting at the bakery.  Get to the bakery early for the best selection.

105 great read about the game at Johnniefootball.com.

TDT read your prediction for the game and you were right on with the asessment.  The QB play was good on both sides of the ball as the yardage was about even.  The scoring was the difference and that is where the edge lied IMO our receivers made some great catches of good reads.

second part is correct but SIDs/ADs/coaches aren't apart of the process.  Check out the list of individuals here
