If the weather is as bad as the gloom and doom media is making it out to be, I doubt I'll be making the trip down 163. Good luck to the Dutch. If I make it I'll be decked out in Wartburg gear. Maybe I'll put a Central shirt on underneath. On a side note. New pictures of "The W" are up.

WH, do you OWN a Central shirt??  ;)

Go Dutch!

I'll be staying warm and dry over here in CR tomorrow... but I'll break out the bag of Old Dutch potato chips in support of my fellow IIAC-ers.  Looking forward to listening to the play-by-play... has the IIAC fixed their website/webcast so we can listen online?

Good luck Dutch!!  I obviously don't own a Central shirt... but I'll sport the Cyclone cardinal shirt tomorrow in support.  That's about as close as I can come... wearing the colors :)

I'm sure it's been beaten to death (as I haven't been keeping up QUITE as much this week as I did during SJU week), but if Bethel wants to ground and pound, I think they are in for a world of hurt.  WB is as good of a running team as there is, and Central didn't let those RBs get to the 2nd level at ALL at WH this year.  If the D-line comes ready to play like they did up in Waverly, I have a good feeling you'll get the same results as in Waverly.

Keep gaining respect for the IIAC!!!

Having not seen Central in a few years it is tough to say.  I think for Bethel to win we need to hold you guys under 14.

I'd have to say for Bethel to win, they'd need to hold Central to 7 or less.  Central's D is just nasty.

Do you still have your Linfield shirt, Dsquared?

I agree, I think we gave up 54 yards ish to Wartburg, a very very good running team, and 35 ish to SJU, if its crappy and Bethel proves they cant throw in the bad weather well stack the box and its going to be a rough day running the ball. This D is jacked and ready to go! Anyone else notice how much of a difference a healthy Dustyn Baethke means!!

Regardless of the conditions I say the Dutch go out and get the stoping underway for a second week in a row! Duffman said we have too...guess we dont have much of a choice! :)

Ill be tailgating with D1hawkd3dutch haven a good time!!

Dutch...hey, I was wondering if the Dutch have got some new jerseys since they played Linfield? They seem to have a little stripe on them that I didn't see before?
PS....I think they look really sharp!

I dont think so, the only thing they added was small lettering Central across the chest. Otherwise I believe they are the same. What little stripe were you talking about?

I see what your talking about bluenote, I think that has been there for a while although I could be mistaken!
The little white stripe above the "C" on the arms. Look at the picture on the front page of this site.

A couple, actually. They used to (don't know if they still do or not) give out T-shirts during college visits in HS so I have a couple from that, and got a couple NICE ones this summer at FB camp.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Looking forward to it, whether we turn into ice sickles or not! I have to agree with DH, I don't think Bethel will have success through the air with the expected conditions and our secondary. Central's D has kind of found it's identity lately and I expect another good week out of them. Baethke getting healthy has been a huge boost along with some other guys really stepping up in big games.

FYI The Central men's basketball game scheduled for Saturday evening has already been postponed but the women's game is still on. There is no way they would postpone a playoff game would they?

McMinnville is supposed to have exactly the same weather as Pella on Saturday. Weird.

Ill take that as a good omen! ;)

Ice storm warning, travel not recommended I just saw on KCCI.com. What would the possibilities be if the game couldnt be played Saturday afternoon. We do have lights, but if we are going to have to postpone it until night why not go up to the UNI dome? It will be interesting to see how this works out!

There are lights at the stadium now.  So the light thing won't be any trouble.  Maybe hard to see the ball if the rain or snow blows hard.

What time does UNI play their game.  That maybe some trouble to get the field and there is the trouble of getting teams to the UNI Dome.  So I don't see that as a viable option.  If it is as bad as the predictions it might be a 0-0 game going to OT.

Walston,

I hope you choose the nice shirts to wear on Sat.  With all the radio stations and teams broadcasting the game no one should miss the game unless the power is lost.

UNI plays at 1:05 so Im sure we could get in after 7 or somewhere aroun 8pm if absolutely necessary.
