While I do see your point, Charlie, the total offense stat was the last line of my justification for not going for Suckow.  As with the touchdowns, it seems to me that he gets a lot more of his numbers against the weaker teams he faces.  All-Purpose yardage is a nice stat, but it favors guys like Suckow that do all kinds of returns.  I'm not sure how much returning Schuring does, but most teams do not put their starting running back in return situations.  I'm not saying that Coe is misusing Suckow (maybe I am), but that stat will favor him just like total offense favors QBs.

Wow what a game.  Dow Jones you may be right.  Your Spartans played very well.  A few mistakes were very very costly.  A high snap over your QB's head and give up a TD and a blocked punt taken back 50 yards.  Those are two costly plays.  Your O came to play they moved the ball very well.  Your D did a very nice job stopping Schuring.  Only the second time he didn't hit 100.  Dubuque is the best 1-7 team I have seen they truly are.  Glad to get out of Dubuque with that one.
That's what's really good!!!  :)  I did not post this past week because I wanted to see how the Spartans would end the season leading up 2 Loras. I am happy 2 see the homeboy Coach B still got the boyz working, playing, practicing hard and still believing like he always does he always find a way to make you want 2 practice when you want. I know after letting this one get away, they can't wait 2 get back on the field in Beaver Town (Enjoy the bus ride fellas :D :D ;)) On tha real though I came on hear beacuse a lot of people were ****ting on us like we were nothing and not giving us the respect as men, talking reckless saying all types of ****. While playing on the team we were not allowed to post on here, as most good coaches do. Unlike the coach of those losers on Loras Street! Maybe thats why he has never, and will never win a championship of any sort. His only claim 2 fame is beating UD however many years in a row, I care not! he is the greatest loser coach of any loser coach from every sport on every level  ;D :o! (TRUE LOSER) Breading more Losers!  I am happy 2 see D3 posting veterans giving us due respect (i.e Charlie KO and Dutchfan2004) you don' know what you all saying that means to the direction of the program. From losing 0-73 at half to the best 1-7 team playing football. UD will get another win and its only 2 games left :o? Its safe 2 say I won't be in Storm Lake. But you can bet your X-mas spending money I be in Dubuque on the 12th :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Can"t wait!!!

Floyd,

I agree with what you have said.  Coe does in no way have two easy games left.  Loras has alot to play for.  They are playing for a winning reocrd and have a very good defense.  I think that it will come down to the Loras O if they can put enough points up.  Simpson has more to play for that last game of the year I think.  What more motivation can you have than beating the top team in the IIAC if Central does beat Wartburg.  Simpson may really want to show that they could be in that tier of teams.

Sportsknight,
Schuring had 88 yards and 0 TDs in a home loss to Coe. He had 104 yards and 1 TD in a win over Bethel. Not exactly MVP caliber. If he's truly the league MVP, he'll earn it this week in Waverly. I'm hoping he does.

Wow....that is all i can say.  Dowjones....are you actually retarded?  Not trying to be mean, but seriously.....are you retarded?  Did you even go to school, because I have woked with the mentally handicapped, and I'm pretty sure that they are smarter then you.  By the way, Loras has a new coach this year, and is working with a very young squad.  Why don't you do everyone a favor and never post another comment.  I am pretty sure that everyone who read your post is now dumber.....thanks a lot.

Duhawk,
If you're gonna bash on someone for being retarded, maybe you should spellcheck your posts.  For example, I am pretty sure that you "worked" with mentally handicapped people, not "woked."  And I don't know how many of those people are smarter than dowjones, but I know that none of them are smarter then anyone.  Than=comparison  Then=sequence/time.

Duhawk, do all of us a favor and stay in school.  Dowjones, from one Chi-town guy to another, keep posting...I love the intensity ;D
Go Norse!!!

Charlie Kohawk,

I don't think that non conference games are a way to pick a conference MVP.  Do you.  Not all the teams choose to play quality teams.  I wouldn't call Westminster a real powerhouse.  St Thomas lost to that Bethel team.  So I am not sure that you want to use non league games for your MVP selections.  If you promote TeKippe I think the Kid from Dubuque has him beat on stats.  Suckow is very talented and used alot.  He does not lead any catagory by himself other than all purpose yards.  Not sure maybe your point is that he is the most valubale because he does it all.  You may have a case on that point.  I don't see many other players returning punts other than him.  So if that is what you are basing your opinion on then he should be considered.  I have no idea what they, or how they vote for the MVP.  I am not making a case for any Dutch player for MVP as I have stated I think the Dutch's success has come from a team effort not a single player.

Dowjone$,
Just what was that Loras coach "breading" those future losers in?  Bread crumbs?  A nice cinnamon, almond mixture?

Pat,

How about some karma for the Central and Coe fans on this board.  I haven't seen anyone complain from Coe that Central is ranked higher in all of the polls.  Also no one from Central is complaining about being ranked behind Augustana.  Obviously IIAC fans are more evolved than the MWC fans since all they do is complain about you and your ranking system.

Go Kohawks!
Go Dutch! (this week)
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I know it's often overlooked, but I believe Suckow also leads the league in touchdowns with 16 (or 13 in IIAC contests). Probably not a huge deal. He had 23 last year and was only a second-team all-IIAC back.

Floyd - BV was bit by the injury bug at tailback, but hopefully Rowedder should be back this week and Pearson possibly back for the Dutch.

BV's young QB put up some decent yards on Simpson's "D".  I didn't expect him to fair as well as he did against Simpson's pass rush, especially when it got to the point where BV had to throw the ball.

Oh well, time to take care of business against Dubuque and then rain on Central's parade for the last game (assuming Wartburg doesn't first)!

The Show,

Don't look to far ahead.  Dubuque has a potent offense.  The can score in a hurry if they have to.  Their defense did a decent job on our running attack and hurried our QB more so than Simpson did.  So before raining on our parade they should watch out for their own.  There are few gimmies in the IIAC anymore.

coocoo,

I did earlier in the year on another board.  I was told that Central's win over Auggie was considered to be an upset and that any team can have an upset.  I think that is correct for some such as in the case of this last week when Capital beat ONU.  But to say two unranked teams play each other and one wins (even if its overtime) the winning team upset them is pretty subjective.  My point was that in D3 you can't really go by last years team. Transfer students from d-2 or d-1 walkons make a huge impact on a team from year to year.  My postings then didn't score me any points so I just let a sleeping dog lie.  As far as Central being ranked ahead of Coe I don't understand it.  Your team won fair and square (even in my humble opinion if we had 5 more minutes I think we could have won which we didn't and is water under the bridge) I think Coe should be ahead of Central.  Just makes sense to me.  Did you see that Central and Coe cracked the AFCA top 25 this week too.  Finally some respect for the IIAC.  Good Luck on your last two games they will be tuff ones.

That's why I said they need to take care of business against Dubuque...

What a fun weekend this is going to be in Waverly. Can't ask for much more than playing for a conference title and controlling your own destiny with 2 weeks left in the year.
If Wartburg wins in Volleyball they'll be a f-ball-vball doubleheader Saturday. I think the IIAC soccer tourney may be at Waverly as well.
Dutchfans-Obviously we all know about Schuring, is Connell all he's billed up to be?
Is the defense as good as its been in  years past?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships
