Question for Dubuque fans with Austin leaving to be head coach will this hurt your recuriting. He was your recuriting guy wasn't he or was it someone else that brought all those Florida kids in. Would like to hear what you think this will do to your Offense or if it will hurt at all.
Where's Walner?
Someone should check the north endzone at Carlson Stadium, he used to like to hang out there.

Charlie Kohawk ...

What was it about Walner that has him still on your radar screen?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Charlie has a lot of pent-up anger for anyone who isn't affiliated with Coe.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Great humor from you.  I almost spit out my coffee while reading that.  Thinking of that game though, besides the Luther game did Walner really have THAT much of an impact in any game that year for Dubuque???  He was a great player but I didn't think of him as a dominating force in the conference.

I would guess that every team spent a little time in preparation for him. They didn't use him all that much on offense. It's to bad he wasn't a little taller, or Freddy would have company at the next level.

Charlie was the guy that got picked on all of the time as a child and now he tries to get everyone back every chance he gets. Obviously he is still upset over the loss to UD this year and is certainly still sour grapes over suchow transferring to wartburg. He'll try to slip a jab at someone whenever he can.

To be honest, before I started reading this board 6 or so years ago, I really didn't have a strong opinion of coe college one way or another but after reading Charlie Kohawk for that length of time, makes me think the school is as trashy as their SID and neighborhood.

As for Joe Austin leaving for a Head Coaching job, congrats! That is what most every assistant aspires to be and will just help the Spartan cause when top assistants move on to bigger opportunities. He certainly did an excellent job running the offense but he was never in charge of recruitment. In fact, Jermar Jackson and others were there before Coach Austin was. Coach B has a solid core of assistants that have been with him for a long time so although anytime you lose a great "team" mate, it hurts, but someone will eventually step in and do fine I am sure.

Walner.......did not graduate from UD. It seems Walner did what he needed to be eligible to play one more year of football with hopes of playing after college. It also seems he didn't plan on finding a job that required a college degree. His decision was unfortunate....but don't kid yourself, Charlie's jealously strikes again here. COE AND every other IIAC college would have LOVED to have Walner Belleus. It takes the same academic requirements to get into to coe as a transfer as it does UD and the same requirements to be eligible to play football.

Good thing is, even without Walner, UD did better.........and going off Charlie's logic last year.....better then Coe.

Happy New Year!

Heck, I was just trying to be funny. Didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers.

Are you saying Walner made it though UD with a degree?
Quite the opposite. Although, if he did, enough said.

Being funny about Walner is one thing.....to insult the institution and it's graduates is quite another. I can only listen to your insults so many times. It would be nice if you found new material for your comedic show.

Big Willie bringing the Thunder down on Charlie!

Charlie trying to backpedal on his post- about as good as an o-lineman trying to backpedal

I like it, it's good reading for the off-season

davedevine

now that I re-read my post, back pedal should be two words rather than one.

sorry for the confusion.  i'm pretty sure it's the first time i've ever written that word out. Lord knows I wasn't fan of practicing it.   Walston, I put this link here to give you some pointers.  It also confirms the correct spelling for all of the english majors in post pattern land.

I spoke with Coe's SID this morning. He's wondering what he ever did to be considered trashy.

Thanks for the link Devine. I was a DB coach this year for the first time so I had been studying up and going to clinics all offseason in preparation for it. That also involved demonstrating a few times.

Also, if any former players are interested and want the opportunity to get paid to play-

I have been checking the Central web site for weeks in anxious anticipation of seeing who they would schedule for non-conference games.  Finally today I see it is Lakeland in Pella and Albion in Michigan.   Yawn.

Well now that Central has their schedule up that makes 4 conference teams with their 2008 schedules posted.  We can pretty much figure out the conference side of the schedule for all teams now.
