I left Wells Fargo about 6 months ago. I'm now working in the marketing department of a legal insurance firm, ARAG. Ah, good old Hells Fargo, er, Wells Fargo. :) Do you still talk to my orange clad former co-worker?  ;D

AND, on my way back home from my trip today my car got hit by a car that ran a red light and is totalled.  So no more Dubuque royal blue car for me.  My daughters want us to buy either a pink car or an orange car...so maybe they are closet Wartburg fans!!!

The pink car would make them closet Luther fans, correct?

I wondered if a Wartburg/Luther war might break out over this!!!  It was kind of funny, when I got home last night as I walked in the door our girls were jumping up and down chanting "new car, new car".  My wife got mad and told them that instead of being happy we are getting a new car they should have been asking if I was ok.  They just shrugged their shoulders and went back into the playroom.

Ok Doolittle I will ask.  Are you ok?  I hope you didn't get dinged up.  Sorry to hear about the car.  Not fun to be in an accident.

I am ok after the accident, just a sore back and shoulder.  And the woman who hit me is ok as well...which is the important part...our cars can always be replaced.  I'm just glad she was driving a car and not in a big rig or I would be a goner.

BV has their 2008 schedule up.  It lists just 9 games but they are playing Waldorf on Oct. 25th.  Looking at the schedules that are posted.  It looks like Wartburg will have either a bye or a non-con game for the last week of the season.  For teams that could be a playoff contender...would you like a bye week heading into the playoffs???  Or would you rather have a game that last week of the season???

Sounds like you could use a Hot Tub...every homeowner in SoCal gets one...that's why we have such high property taxes and State Taxes and Gas Prices.

Kidding aside, representing the Ram Nation, we are glad you are OK.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

I'll see what I can do about getting the '01 and '02 Wartburg highlight tapes on YouTube.

So that sounds like I have to work on getting '03 and '04 on there then.
I'll see what I can do about '05-'07.

The first rejection came in already he won't be at Florida Atlantic.  They don't have any positions open.  1 down and 84 to go.

I'm sure Howard Schnellenburger would have had a wealth of knowledge for your son...too bad they didn't have any openings.  Is he mainly looking at D-1 schools or did he send out letters to all types of schools???

I have '01-'04 already burned to my computer as AVI files if you want me to try uploading or converting them then uploading them.

Does anyone know of any IIAC former players trying out/ already made the team  for IA Barnstormers in Arena II?

I've seen a lot of "WOW" looks on F-ball recruits touring the W the past couple of weeks. Aux gym/ racquetball courts should open next week. Pool is about ready to "add water". Can' see into indoor track area.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

New to the board......

Has anyone heard or seen any additional news on the new Simpson staff?  I saw that they hired a new Head Coach in Jim Glogowski who brought in Simpson alum Joe Beschorner as the OC.  Have been curious to see how the hiring have gone over and impact on recruiting.....or more importantly what's the outlook for 2008?

My brother just visited this week.  He had been pretty set on BV, but he really liked the coaches at Simpson and is now considering going there.  One of his buddies who is being recruited for basketball sat in when he met with the coaches just to kill time before his own visit started, and he was also quite impressed with them and said he would go there if he was looking to play football.  Based on that, I'm guessing that there are probably a lot of kids who are taking a closer look at Simpson.

Dutchfan1 What division of WF were you with? I am currently employed with the Well and just living the dream :). Just curious, seems like a lot of CUI grads end up here. I also work with several others from the IIAC. I think we have one from just about every school represented.

D2004 I'm assuming Tim is your son and I wish him luck in his pursuit of a GA position. Central has been able to establish some connections with some pretty solid programs through Jake Anderson, our strength coach. Maybe that could help Tim with his search??

Just off the top of my head I know we have GA's or interns in the strength/conditioning field at Boise State, Kentucky, Iowa State and a couple others that are escaping me at the moment. I know our grad at BSU interned with Louisville for a summer through coach Anderson.

We're lucky to have Coach Anderson at Central, I'm sure he has/or had some opportunities to move up the NCAA ranks but he is great for the Dutch. He was under Doyle at Iowa which has helped our strength/conditioning students get a foot in the door with some good programs. I'm guessing Coach Mac is helping Tim out as well, I wish him luck with his search.

Considering that Wells employs roughly half of Des Moines, that doesn't surprise me. :) I worked as a Fraud Prevention Specialist for Cards, dealing with card theft and Identity Theft and such. Interesting stuff...

I hope you're not one of the 100+ getting laid off....
