Outstanding job Sportknight you haven't lost your touch.
Wonder why Pfanz is leaving Coe. Did McMartin have is house roof lately?

WH congrats on the new impending arival.  My birthday was always during camp.  From middle school through college.  Sitting in a film room breaking down practice tape on your 21st was oustanding  ::)!

I'm sure Larry would've been cool with you bringing Irish coffee to meetings that day.  I always suspected that Osty might have occasionally slipped some whiskey in that HOT! cup he always carried around.  Either that or he and Strater had a lot of wake-and-bakes before early meetings that year he helped out.  Come to think of it, I do remember Strater wearing a tie-dyed Dead shirt to meetings once or twice...
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

You know what Larry actually recomended that.  Yeah that whole drinking coffee at 8 pm thing seemed a little suspect, considering some of things that came out of his mouth.  How funny would that have been to see those two walking out of the office and a huge smoke cloud following them.  I think the tie-dyed Dead shirt was a staple of what that kid stood for regarding football and life.  Lets just say those Valley kids were a differnt breed.

SK1,

good work on the you tube post/ 07' highlights..

I just wish the plays you put together for me back in the day  had these sideline views. there might be a couple, but not many

the pressbox and endzone views from 50-100 yds away don't quite put it into perspective like these closer shots-  especially when you can her the pads and hitting

Walston and any other WB follower.  I talked to coach Matt Mitchell(Cornell Grad) earlier this week and he  was promoted to D-coordinator @ Grand Valley St a few weeks ago.
The Old D-coordinator took job @ Richmond who happens to be in Applachain St.'s conference.  he'll have fun game planning for them every year

Pfantz is a great addition to Central. I heard he left Coe after last season to be a high school head coach in NW Iowa. He is by far the best recruiter we had contact with. All the other IIAC schools will have to work overtime to keep up with him.

Did Central really need help in the recruiting department???  ;D ;D ;D

I thought 29 conference titles and all those playoff appearances kind of took care of itself in the recruiting department.  Maybe Central thought they needed a top notch recruiter to counter the facilities improvements that Wartburg and Dubuque have now!!!

I thought he was the DC already. Maybe co-DC or something?
Your senior year highlight tape should all be from the sideline. I don't remember your junior year.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

If Pfanz is going to be the recruiting coordinator, does that mean Southmayd is gone?

I don't know.  I haven't heard that.  I will find out.

He was not at Coe according to the press release.  He was coaching at some high school here in the state.  The name escapes me at this time.

Coe's Erik Raeburn is one of the two finalist for the Wabash College (Crawfordsville, IN, see story on the web at www.thepaper24-7.com) job. The other finalist is the offensive coordinator at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Final interviews this week with an announcement likely by the end of this week.

Interesting, the Whitewater coach was also a finalist for the St. Thomas job earlier this week.  And Raeburn was interested in the Muskegum job last year...seems he is itching to get back closer to home in Ohio...that or he really wants away from Coe.  Would be interesting to see if Coe stays near the top of the IIAC if Raeburn would leave the school.  They are a good school in a nice sized city with some history of athletic success, but they are also starting to fall behind as far as facilities in the conference.

In one of our meetings with Coach Mac, Pfantz's name came up and coach Mac said he wished he dould find a way to get him on Central's staff. Obviously, he found a way.

Walston,

forgot to tell you congrats on the baby.
Mitchell has been LB coach since he went there, so this will  be his 1st year with the new title.

you are correct about the team tape being from the sidelines.   I put my own together and  didnt have the KWAR sideline copies.. SK patched up my editing for me.

by the way, is your brother in law still in pella?   did you see the  there's a picture of your wife on the WB site?
