Is it just me or does anyone else find it fun that Coe hasn't posted Raeburn is leaving and still list him as head coach. Just a question. Also has anyone hear if Weber is going to play football in Germany or not.

They won't post anything until they get a new coach.  They meaning the SID.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Its the same reason Wartburg and most of the other conference school's don't update their baseball rosters until after the season starts (this coincidentially goes right along with the end of the main recruiting season.  hmmmmmmm)    ;)

Wow, Coach Raeburn has been taking a lot of bad raps on this board. It's hard for me to believe!   I recently graduated and played for him for four years.   My experience was awesome and I appreciate everything Raeburn did for Coe.   Sometimes people forget that Coe was new to the IIAC and could have ended up like Cornell, but Raeburn brought a sense of prestige to the program coming from Mt Union.

He might have had some flaws like most of us do, but I think he had really improved on some of those issues over the years.   It's too bad there are guys like Suckow or DeMoulin that paint a bad picture of what really went down.   They were cancers on the team and we were all glad when they left.

There are many of my teammates that do not look or post on this board that feel the same as I do.  When some of you posters say you talked to guys on the Coe team, who were you talking with?   Some disgruntled non-starter that felt he was getting a bad deal?   I was one of our core players and felt like I knew all of my teammates.   We thought Raeburn was a great guy that just needed a supportive administration and a few more full time coaches.  Look how many of his assistant coaches have gone onto successful careers.  Raeburn held things together under very poor circumstances.   We all know Coe does not have the resources that most of their main competitors have, (i.e. facilities and coaching staff).   For him to have Coe in the conference race every year is an amazing thing.   Good Luck Coach Raeburn!  We will miss you!

Welcome to the board CoeNation.  Looking forward to more posts from you.  It's always nice to get a bit of an insiders view of the goings on at a school.  Sometimes it takes a bit of a thick skin on here.  Posters from rival schools like to kid around about other schools.  I took things more personally when I started on here but as time went on I realised there really wasn't a lot of hate on here.  Just people that really liked their school and really liked the IIAC and D-III football.  Some of the stuff said on here is said with tongue planted firmly in cheek...it's just not always easy to spot it right off the bat.

All of that is true exept for those darn Loras people!!! They are bad bad bad!!!

Can you tell who my favorite team is???  ;D ;D ;D

Welcome CoeNation

I think part of your post was directed at me. Of the current Coe players I've talked to, the one who has had the worst experience is a letter winnert who played varsity as a freshman. As I also said, I've not had the opportunity to talk to them after the end of this season,so I don't know if opinions have changed, as they sometimes do.

I look forward to your insight, not only about Coe, but on football in general. There is always room for one more here.

Here is some +k to start you off.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

So when you watched the Central/Dubuque game last night...did Dubuque somehow NOT fumble away the game in the 2nd OT and win it this time???  Or did Central still come out on top???  Did that Central QB...I forget his name...still throw a TD on 4th and 9 late in the 4th quarter???  ;D ;D ;D

Well I became more vocal then possibly. ;D

Actually what really brought me closer to the school was UD doing webcasts of their football and basketball games starting in 2005.  I found out about it in time to listen to the 2nd half of the Loras game in 2005 and that became their only conference win of the year on the last game of the season.  Me being the superstitious type I figured if I listened more often Dubuque might start winning more.  ;D ;D ;D

But seriously, having Dubuque games to listen to and then finding this site midway through the 2006 season turned me back into a big time fan as opposed to looking in the sunday paper for the Dubuque score and no write up on the game and then going on with my day.  Now I plan on making 3 football games next year and probably Dubuque @ Wartburg in basketball will become an annual event for me.

This site also showed me what great fans the other conference schools have...exept Loras!!!  Just kidding, I have found some nice Loras supporters as well...it's just hard for me to admit that!!!

Oh sure I think you are just trying to be nice to the Loras people.  You say that there are nice Loras fans but you never mention them by name.  I think you are just afraid if you are not nice your karma will suffer.  Come on now tell the truth.   ;D ;D

Oh yes and by the way UD did fumble at the 12 in the second OT and that 4th and 9 did still happened.

Doolittle,

Tonight will be the SJU game.  Been looking forward to watching that one.  That is probably the best start to finish game this year.  Sorry to mention this but the SJU, UD game last year, and the Loras game last year were the best as far as start to finish.  The one thing that did occur to me is that UD really played us very tough at their house but really did not play well on the road.  Would you say that is a trait of the Spartans or just against us?  I mean playing tough at home but not as well on the road?

I don't think there really is an easy answer there. The year Dubuque played poorly at Central they won at Wartburg.  This past year 2 of the Spartans 3 losses were at home.  Over the last 4 years Dubuque is 2-2 against Coe, going 1-1 at home and 1-1 on the road.  Can't say I really have any idea there.
