W Parking
The best bets for parking is in the lot near the Maintenance facility- across 12th Street from the W. You can enter the building on football stadium side or park in the lots closest to Joes and head NORTH to see the game, south to drink.
Al beat me to the punch.  The games that I've gone to, I've usually parked south of campus near Joe's and walked from there.  Its a pretty straight shot to the W from down there.

I'll be at the game.  The guys I lived with my (second) senior year at Wartburg decided we needed to see a game in the new place, and this game worked in everybody's schedule.  Sounds like we'll be rendevouzing at the Goat around noon, and then up to the games from there.

Man, I almost was headed up to Wave-town this weekend to catch the game, but our coaching staff scheduled our "professional development" weekend for this weekend so I will be in Dubuque Friday talking Loras football, then headed to some high schools in Springfield, IL for the rest of the weekend.
I still haven't seen a basketball game in the W. Just and alumni VB game.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Funny how we get older the priorities change isn't it.  Either that or you need the development ;D ;D ;D ;D

PH,

Redlands beat the NWC champion (Whitworth) last year and I would be surprised if DB or the IIAC Champ (Central) was better.

Hmmm...you'd be very surprised then, especially with Central.

PH,

Redlands was without their starting quarterback and best defensive player for the St. John's game. They got hurt the week earlier against Cal Lu.

So, are you suggesting that UofR would have won that game @ St. John's with a healthy Selway and the other kid in the lineup?

A believe a healthy Dan Selway and Brock Arndt could have made a huge difference. Not many teams will do well when they lose their best offensive and defensive player to injury. How would DB do last year without J. Jackson running the offense? Now substitute your backup quarterback for his first real snaps of the year in a playoff game at St. John's.

Funny,  Central lost their 2 time MVP player for all of part of 4 games and they went 10-0.  They also lost their LB for a game in that stretch and one of the best cover guys as well.  Good teams seem to be able to replace losses and move on and be successful.

You're right. Good teams replace losses and move on. In Redlands case it was their starting quarterback who seperated his shoulder in week 10 against Cal Lu. It's hard to replace 3000 yards of offense in one week going into the playoffs. He tried to go against St. John's but was completely ineffective and didn't even last a half. St. John's is hard enough to beat in Collegeville. Redlands would have needed a healthy Dan Selway to have had a chance to pull off the upset.

89.1 - FYI - AEN Jr. could not handle the pressure of living up (?) to the greatness of the former residents of his dorm room in Clinton Hall  so he moved to Grossmann.

Sad to hear...plenty of good times down on Clinton ground.  One of the best was duct taping Sportsknight's roommate to the wall, those crazy 149 lbs wrestlers.  Have a good time in Alabama.  I will try to make it back to Waverly area this summer for a golf outing, maybe hit up a Waterloo Bucks baseball game (and of course drop of SG soda and Mabe's pizza).

That was a good time...and in no way was alcohol involved ::).  I can't decide which year was more fun: freshman year on Clinton 3 or sophomore year on Ground.  Definitely more characters on C3, but probably a few more interesting nights down on ground (like a certain former all-state tight end's karaoke evenings).

While Dubuque would have been hurt to lose Jermar Jackson during the season last year.  They would have been ok because he had an o-line with 4 seniors and 1 junior that had all been starting for multiple years along with 2 senior running backs and 3 wide recievers and a tight end with starting experiance.

Next year with Dubuque starting a new QB, RB, and an entire new o-line...which I believe the new o-line will be the thing that really hurts Dubuque, they SHOULD be in for a hard time against Redlands.  But the fan in me makes me believe they will find replacements for all those guys and give Redlands all they can handle.

IN the here and now.  I think it is fair to say this year's edition of UofR would be a top 25 caliber team.  The DBQ will get a quick read on where they stand.  Coach Maynard of Redlands is an IIAC type of guy.  Top notch, competitive and tough...No Kohawks, you can't have him, cuz I said so.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

I googled Klopenhiemer and found only two posts on d3 attributed to you.

I googled Klopenheimer and found a story about a cross-dresser using the name Matilda Klopenheimer that crashed a Harvard sorority for dinner in 1948.  Any possible relation?

One last hot car comment.  My '69 Dodge Charger, not orange like the Dukes of Hazard (it was blue and black).  Flew like the wind.  Didn't smooth out until about 85/90 mph.  I graduated a year earlier than Mrs. Warthog so I would head out of St. Louis on I-70 about 9:00/10:00 pm Friday night.  Hit US63 at Columbia, Missouri and fly up across Iowa.  360 miles generally in about 4 1/2 to 5 hours.  Only remember being stopped twice.  The cop in Ottumwa gave me a warning when I told him I was in a hurry to get to Wartburg's homecoming.

I did lose control one time just outside Kirksville.  I apparently dozed for a second going back to St. Louis.  Scared me enough so I would sleep before heading back after that. The sleep session often brought me back into St. Louis just before rush hour on Monday morning, but a long Monday was better than being dead on Sunday.

You didn't have to live near him for all four years like me.  Plenty of stories about that guy.  Clinton 3 had plenty of great characters....Louis Oglesby, enough said.  Chili Dog?  Tons of FB guys.  Reichel had talked about having a Clinton 3 reunion some year...probably involving a lot of kegs.

If you don't make it this summer, you're penciled in for the NA Fat-boys group @ HC again.  BY then Dover may need a "personal development" day.

I forgot about Chili Dog!  I can only think of 3 words when I think of Big Lou:  You stink f@#$er!

I don't know that we'd ever be able to have a reunion of that crew.  There only ended up being about 1/3 of us that lasted at Wartburg, and who knows where some of the others have ended up.
