Aw, DutchFan1, don't say that! The Dutch can take those Johnnies!

Coco, it really pains me to type that -- those darn Johnnies. I would love it if my boys in Pella proved me wrong, though!!!  ;D

Hey, when it comes down to it, the pregame festivities would be all a self-respecting fan would need. You know that Stiftgunfest is a little bit of heaven on a bun.  ::)

Go Dutch!!

coocoo,

I don't think many kids have commited yet.  I know in my sons case he didn't commit till like Feb after he went to scholarship days at his choices.  He waited till he saw what he qualified for.  I think that is the way with many kids in the IIAC.  I don't think that many colleges have had their scholarship interviews yet.  I could be wrong but seems to me that doesn't start till Jan.  Maybe someone else has a better idea than I.

Most financial aid packages based on need cannot be determined after January 1st.  This is because the student/student's family cannont submit a FAFSA  (Free Applicaion For Student Aid-- this is the form from the US Department of Ed) until that time.

Good luck to Central and Coe tomorrow.  I hope that you both make the stadiums as quiet as the Dutch did the first week of the season at my Viking's Ericson Field.  Man was that a ballsy call on the 2 pointer.

We will hopefully be taking it to Lakeland.  Here is to football from the heartland!

Go Vikings!

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I think it is over---- sounds like both IIAC teams are out of the playoffs. It's tough to beat Cord at home. SJU only did it on the last play of the game.

Good luck next year.

Flyingdutch,

Tell your son he did a great job.  That hit he took at the end of the game was one of the biggest I have seen.  I was really surprised he got up.  They hit alot harder than I have seen all season.  They have next year to get them.  Hope he isn't hurt and thanks that he chose Central and is part of the team.

Any eyewitness accounts from either game?

Coe faithful:

Congrats on a very successful season. Great game today in Moorhead, the Cobbs were just too strong at home in the slop.  From what I heard from Cobber players, the Kohawks played a very clean and hard fought game.  I hope you enjoyed all that the Red River Valley has to offer: Cold, Wind, Wind, and more Wind.
RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

Norsefan,

Whitewater is a good team.  They earned the win.  They had a great defense.  They were fast flew to the ball and hit hard.  They had a great running back in the Beavers kid and their QB was good too.  Just couldn't run the ball today.  Schuring only had 36 yards rushing.  They wanted to make us one dimensional and they did.

It sounded like the weather really played havoc with Coe's offense.  From the radio broadcast it seemed like people were open, it was just too difficult to throw a decent pass or to catch anything that wasn't right in the numbers.  Coe has done well for itself this year, and with so much offensive fire power returning next year the games will at least be exciting.  Congratulations to the Cobbers.  They came in and did what they had to do.  I do think Coe can and will be able to play with and beat the best of the MIAC next year.  Very proud to be a Kohawk this morning, and you guys gave us fans a great season.  Sorry to see the seniors go, and especially the last of the Staker boys.  I hope Coach Staker stays with the team next year.  Maybe bring on another Staker to coach the secondary next year.

Go Kohawks!

Tough games for both the KoHawks and the Dutch. It's too bad the post season action was so short-lived. Congrats on fantastic seasons all around.

Dutch, I'm looking forward to some exciting football in the coming years -- be proud of what you have accomplished in two years under McMartin!

O.K,

Let's all hold hands, look both ways, and proceed with caution to the Hoops chat board!  We have nine pages to catch up on.

Coocoo, from the stats is sounded to me like Coe got the rock jammed down their throat.  I know their stud middle linebacker was out, but I was still disappointed in their run defense.  Especially since everyone knew that the Cobbers are a run first, pass second team.

I look for their entire coaching staff to stay in tact, and continue to bring in some top level talent to become a force in the playoffs.  They are about 6-7 impact players away from being a national contender.  If their coaches can find those 6-7 guys, they will make a run beyond the first round.

Congrats to Central as well.  They will easily be the team to beat next year because they return a lot of people.
