I'm looking for some input from the Coe faithful. I heard from an impeccable source that one player has quit Coe because of the Staker hire. Are there any other players who have done the same?

I would say ANY coaching change would leave to some defection. It may also be a case that the kid stuck it out last fall and was planning to play again next fall but lost his desire to practice since the season ended.

The best employment advise I ever got was from the worst boss I ever had. "If you dread coming to work every day, do us both a favor and find another job, You not helping me as much as you should and not doing yourself any good either."
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

It all depends on who this kid was.  Was he a 3 year starter or some kid that received little playing time???

Most IIAC teams will bring in 40-60 freshmen every year and each year most teams are down to about 10-20 seniors.  It is to be expected that teams will lose players each year.  It's probably a bit early to tell if there is trouble in the Coe Nation.

Gray Fox

Nothing stopped Danny Jones, all SCIAC quarterback from Cal Lutheran, from transferring to UW-Whitewater when the coach left for greener pastures and a replacement hadn't been named.

He bragged about his championship ring on the SCIAC board.  All of this has caused a great dael of discussion and viewpoints.

Judging by where you are from, could this be a huge impact player for Coe?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

This was a freshman who who got some varsity playing time and who would have been a starter next year.

As far as that impact player, I've been trying to find him a roofing job for two years!
(That last line was a joke.)

That was a interesting and yet sad story.  It has got to feel very strange to be an alum of a school that no longer exists, whether it be a college or a high shool.

That was an interesting read.  There are many holes left and I have many questions.  Why did Parson's loose the acredidation?  Why did the president come under so much fire?  Why did he open so many colleges?  Was he trying to turn the Parson's Plan into chain like McDonald's.  I assume that I will never know a lot of these questions, but it would be very interesting to talk with someone who knew the inside scoop.

I'm waiting on the answers to those trivia questions.
In the meantime, I believe we are on 9.
9-and 1 and missed the playoffs in 2000 after leading the Dutch 10-0 at halftime. One of the first meaningful times I played Varsity football when our Center went down late third quarter. I wasn't enough for a comeback though.

This is what is crazy about the IIAC and playoffs, etc.   WB is 2 quarters away from a back to back 10-0 season and realistically  a ##2 or #3 seed in the playoffs.  We manage to lose - go 9-1 -not make the playoffs - and watch the Dutch get a #1 seed.  I never did and never will  understand the math in that whole equation.
Talk about a huge swing of events....

DBQ1965, are you making it to the Rockford game???  We tried to make reservations at the Julian Inn but they are suposedly closed for renovations then.  Now my wife is trying to decide between staying in a hotel or B & B.

DF2K4...we won't be making the trip to Redlands.  Our sons birthday is on the 16th.  So we decided to celebrate his birthday on the 13th and then we could go to Decorah for the UD/Luther game on the 20th.  We decided that made much more finantial sense then going to Cali on the 13th and then staying home the 20th to celebrate his birthday then!!!
