I stand corrected on the make-up of Central's student population.  I never claimed that my 5 months in Pella made me any kind of an expert on anything, and my post certainly proves that.

No offense meant, SK, it was just that the thought of that much of the student body coming from the RCA was very funny to me.  I'm just not sure that the entire college age population of the denomination across America could provide enough students to make up that much of Central's student body.  It's easy to see where the perception could come though if you are not familiar with the size of the denomination nationally, Pella gives people an artificial perception of the denomination as a whole.  People would likely get the same impression around Western Michigan and NW Iowa.  It is definitely a denomination with dense pockets of popularity in certain areas and completely unknown in others.  Again, I meant no offense.

And since I will be away from the office for a "business trip" to Las Vegas next week, here are some early numbers...

14 - Retired number of Ernie Banks...flying on the left field foul pole at Wrigley (I'm off to Wrigley in just about a week as well, so I have had baseball on the mind)

16 - the number of consecutive IIAC titles for the Wartburg Knights Wrestling team

When I enrolled at  Central I had to fill out something that asked my religious affiliation.  I wrote, "None."  A couple of years later I got some thing out of my Permanent Record and it showed my religious affiliation as "Reformed Church of America."  It must have been a miracle.

I hear Wartburg may have a new signal-caller next year. Anyone have any info?
Haven't heard anything and I usually catch wind of something like that. I assume you are implying that Yordi is gone?
Not saying you're wrong, just saying I haven't heard anything.

I don't think dropped is correct.  SK wasn't it tried and the magistrate found that it was a stupid thing to do but no crime had been commited?  That is my understanding.
Also wasn't his court case dropped ????

Yes it went to trial, but he was found not guilty by the judge, who basically came down as many of us did, that Yordi's actions were offensive and dumb, but not criminal.

The Yordi question - probably wouldn't leave unless he felt he didn't have a good receiving crew coming back, What does it look like? - Wartburg probably has the best backup at the QB position in the conference.

"If I think really hard about it, I can think of two other Irish-Catholics that I went to Wartburg with.  It wasn't tough to find another Catholic, a bit tougher to find other Irish kids, but darn near impossible to find anyone else that fit both bills."

SK, I'm your huckleberry

saw in the USA Today that the WR from Mt Union is projected as a 5th-6th round pick.  I believe he was the only D3 player mentioned.  I'm sure there is 1 or 2 others that will sneak in there under the radar as well.
UNI has 2 OL that are also projected to go in those rounds.. very impressive.   Brad Meester being a 2nd round pick from there (and having  a stellar career for the Jags)  can't hurt any

13- (in honor of Master's week for the golfers)
