Sad article out of UCF.  It appears that the coach is taking a lot of heat for this.  I have mixed feelings wheather this is just or unjust.

That coach being former Dubuque Spartan George O'Leary.

Purple Heys

So how does Purple Heys handle the situation if daughter heys gets half a dozen D-I track schollie offers but she tells the folks she'd like to go to Cornell, just like her big brother???

If only the Rams could offer a full ride...   :)  The coolest thing was Track season during Heys Jr. senior year...she was also on Varsity then as a sophomore, so they were on the same team...she would run over to him before every 300 Hurdle race and give him a hug for luck.  Seemed to work because it was an event that he had never done before and he became top 10 in the San Diego Section by the season's end.

I will say this...she is very envious of what her brother has at Cornell.  By that I mean a situation that seems to be perfect for him.

That's all she's (and we are) looking for...it's a bit more difficult to find at a larger school, but from the school's she's narrowing things down to, we think she'll find what she's looking for.

Show...Nice dogs...Mrs Klop wants one very bad and has been riding me about getting one.  Where did you purchase them at?  Have you had good luck with them?

We got them both up in Chamberlain, S. Dakota.  One will be 3 in October and the other will be a year old this May.  We've had great luck with them, but I believe you need to put the time in to find a good breeder.  Temperament is key and they are awesome with our daughter (19 months) and child #2 will be here anyday (due date is the 27th).  I could go on for pages on this, so I'll shoot you an e-mail instead.

A husky will need a decent sized yard to run in or at least be taken on daily walks.  Also, I'm thinking about hiring mine out as an excavation service!  ;)

George O'Leary was my roommate in college and we both dated Morgan Fairchild, that's the ticket. . .

14 - Total wins for Dubuque in the 1990's.  14-84 overall...in 90 and 91 they only played 9 games each year.  Don't know if that was a league wide thing or just Dubuque.

14 - Receptions for UD's Josh Staley vs. Cornell in 2005.  I think this was the game ramfan27 had 3 dropped int's...I mean pass breakups!!!  Also, I believe, the last conference win for Cornell!!!

Time to break out the sun screen and beach clothes.

This just in from the news room:  Tourist group blinded by 50,000 lilly white Iowans raiding the Sailorville beach at the sight of sun light.  One person was quoted saying "I have been beaten down for the last 5 months by this weather, I do not care how white I am, Im letting it all hang out ;D ;D ;D"

So, have some IIAC schools started their spring practice yet???

I believe Cornell is waiting until after baseball and track concludes to maximize number of attendees.

If it doesn't stop snowing in Iowa, Cornell's Spring Practice will happen in July.   ;D

Simpson had winter practice yesterday it snowed the entire practice . Sure glad for global warming
Snow is better for spring practice than late fall playoffs.  Oh, makes me cold just thinking about it again.

Wish we had that wind and temp that would go a long ways in drying things up around here.  Help the farmers get into the fields as well.   ;D ;D

Practice in Pella winds up this week from the word I got from son.  He doesn't have much to say as he is busy with other things now.  I do think he misses it some what already.   :D

14 - Number of points scored against Central in 2007 by Loras, BV, Cornell and Wartburg.  Apparently that was a good place for the Central defense to say enough is enough.
