I agree, too bad I'm not the one making it.
That and the decision to drive an hour away to spend 2 hours watching 80 strangers walk across a stage to collect a piece of paper and one niece of my wife's that I barely know. That's not my decision either.

We all hear that

ANyone got any Friday fun?

Thursday night fun...spent last night in the Twin Cities at a Rush concert.  I saw them the first time they were there on the Snakes & Arrows tour, but I just HAD to go back again.  It was sweet!

Neil Peart is by far and away the best drummer ever...but last night Alex Lifeson really made me realize that he is one of the better guitarists out there.  And Geddy Lee (despite his voice) is one hell of a bassist too.

Rain here in CR has ruined any chance of having some Friday fun, at least outside anyway.  Work all day and then baseball games cancelled tonight.  Maybe me and the fiance will take in a movie tonight.

Speaking of movies, I went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie last night.  I was a HUGE fan in my younger days.  I thought this latest installment was about what I expected.......a nice bit of nostalgia wrapped in the continued grooming of Shia Lebouf as a superstar.  The movie was good, not great, and entertaining, but not exciting.  They did do a nice job of making it look a lot like the old movies visually, but I was still hoping for more.  If you loved the first three, go and see it for no other reason than seeing the vintage hat in full effect.

I am in charge and do whatever I want as long as my wife says its OK

Regarding IJ4- That will be one good thing that comes from this weekend. The inlaws will be down to watch our daughter while we paint and volunteered to watch her Saturday night as well so my wife and I can go to IJ4. I'm a huge fan and have watched each of the trilogy at least 3 times in the last month.

I just took a look at the William Penn media guide from the 2007 season.

It said the NAIA had 330 schools of which 90 offered football.  Teams like Dordt and Grandview weren't on there because they hadn't added football yet.

NAIA seems to be concentrated in the midwest...with offices in Kansas City I suppose that makes sense.

Here is the break down by state for NAIA schools with football.

14 - Kansas
8 - Iowa...soon to be 10
7 - Missouri
6 - Nebraska and Illinois
5 - S. Dakota, N. Dakota, Montana, Kentucky, Ohio
4 - Oklahoma...where the wind goes sweeping down the plains
3 - Tennessee, Indiana
2 - Texas, Oregon, Virginia, Florida
1 - Georgia, W Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, California, British Columbia!!!

I guess making the playoffs isn't that big of a deal if there are only 90 teams.  Who does Azusa Pacific play all by themselves out in California???  And I find it interesting that Waldorf has remained an independant in football while all the other NAIA schools in the state that play football are in a conference!!!

So if there are 330 NAIA schools and only 90 of them that offer football.  How many D3 schools total are there vs. how many of them offer football???

I plan on an Indiana Jones viewing tonight.  I too heard that it wasn't as good as the others, like there were a few scenes which seemed a little unbelievable.  While Indiana Jones of the past may have had some pretty crazy adventures or situations he was in...they were at least believable.  Either way I will be going (despite $8+ to go to the movies).  This and the new Batman are two must sees this summer.

ANyone got any Friday fun?

Footballkid arrived safely home from Mexico about 2:30 this morning. Woke up when he got home and stayed up until about 4:00am listening to his tales from south of the border. Needless to say coupling that with softballkid's game last night, I'm not quite on top of the world today. Hoping to get some lawn mowed between showers this weekend, otherwise saving money hanging out at home.
