OK, I'm off to work for a couple hours and then over to Pella. Remind me to come back to page 115 when I get back Friday afternoon.
I leave you with this to end the week. I thought it was pretty funny.

You come to Wartburg to play for championships

September can't come soon enough for me.  That way the Hawks can just play the game of football.  And then I can get to see if Dubuque will be able to keep their momentum from the last 2 seasons going!!!

Doolittle, you have less than 45 days and 5 1/2 hours to wait.  It finally seems like it is getting closer.  August is just around the corner and that will really kick up the excitement level.

Congrats to Tommy Breitbach...he is one hell of a player to watch...especially that punt return he took back against Central last year (sorry Dutch)  that was just an amazing play by a kid that has great talent.  Just a warning to everyone now....coaches are going to have to draw up their game plans worrying about him this year...not just on defense, but as offense as well.  Good luck Tommy & Kohawks!

He is a good player and that punt return was a great job of running the ball.  Congrats to his honor.  Nice to see an IIACer in the mix.

That was a fun return to watch.  AND he kept his foot inbounds!!!  Seeing all these schools put up highlight videos makes me mad Dubuque doesn't do the same thing.   >:( >:( >:(

Hmm, I think Dubuque is installing their new field... http://www.dbq.edu/ChlapatyCenter/webcams/Chlapatycamera.cfm

That or they are laying the new track surface...can't tell yet.

It was great to win the game that was way too close for comfort, as so many were last year.  I was very sorry to see the return, but it was one great play by Breitbach.  Kohawk Remedy, thanks for the unpleasant reminder.   :'(  Congratulations to Breitbach, he is well deserving of the honor.

Unfortunately for Coe...Central did win the game.  However, that punt return which was a 53 yd unbelievable return...if you weren't at the game KCDutch then I suggest you take a look at Coe's highlight film because it was almost Devin Hester like moves around the Dutch on that play.  That punt return was Coe's momentum started that last until the Dutch blocked the FG attempt in the 4th qtr and scored shortly after.  Overall it was a great game, Central just came up in the end like they did all last year.  Hopefully its a different story this year.  I believe in the last 5 yrs Coe vs Central is 3-2.  I guess that is something to look at eh?

doolittledog

When games are too close for comfort, fans stay glued to their seats...denying Central of much needed concessions revenue!!!  I wonder if Central would consider having concessions workers working the crowd???  ;D ;D ;D  Fresh roasted peanuts, get your fresh roasted peanuts here.  Cold pop, who wants some ice cold pop   ;D ;D ;D  I bet we don't end up seeing that!!!

Fannosaurus Rex

Punts that got returned last year were just freshman mistakes.  This year all of Brondyke's punts will be downed inside the 5.

There used to be a bar in Campustown in Ames called the Library. As in "But Dad, I spent Friday and Saturday nights at the Library!"

There's a place on College Hill in Cedar Falls now called The Library.  Or so I've been told. ;)
