What about Coach Kac from Central?  I heard he was coaching high school ball last season and I'd be surprised if he would turn down the chance to get back to the college level.  Regardless, the chance to recruit Chicago as much as Loras does will bring plenty of applicants.

How about Lance and me 8) They didn't hire us at Wartburg so we're still available. >:(

Any word on a new Loras Coach? Confused have they contacted you yet?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

No Walston, I have not been contacted yet, I will be waiting though. Hopefully, I won't end up like Lance and Warthog with the Wartburg job  ;)

Judging from what I have read and heard, the process will be as quick as possible. But, it still may take a few weeks or god help us, even longer. I really think it may end up being one of the coahes a few other Loras posters have mentioned... If I was making the decision I would try to get Mike Hoskins from Rockford. He is a hell of a recruiter, he almost had me sold on going to Loras right out of HS.

It all depends on who has applied...and I have not recieved any info on anyone yet...
I will try to keep everyone posted, but sometimes I am sworn to secrecy. Which is fine by me..

I think the delay in finding a coach for the DuHawks has to do with the new field  at the Rock Bowl ::)

Mrs. Warthog and I took a day trip to Dubuque today.  After downtown shopping, a brewsky at the Brick House, a visit at the River Museum, and driving by the cable car; we did three campus tours. (Clarke, UD and Loras)  Actually I was trying to sneak in and get an interview for the head football job at Loras.

When I saw the Rock Bowl field up close I decided to withdraw my name from consideration.  The changes to the field are gorgeous from the street.  Then when you get closer you begin to see yellow lines on the "football" field.  Not just one at midfield, NO! Hundreds of them going every which direction.  Some go vertically to the field.  Others go horizontally.  Some are even semi circles.  Some are on the field of play.  Others are out of bounds.  Oh my God! Vandals have ruined a perfectly good football field!   :o Then I realized I was looking at a soccer field super-imposed onto a football field.

If defacing the Rock Bowl isn't an additonal reason for Luther's reformation I don't know what is.   >:( This should be the 96th thesis to nail on the door of the Wittenburg Church.

Hasn't Loras played enough games at Simpson to know that double dipping is a bad idea?  Hells bells, why not add some blue rugby lines?  The field is already ruined, they might as well go all the way.

By the way.  The view from University of Dubuque's Chalmers Field is still the best in the IIAC.

In Rhein Fire's 22-0 victory over the Berlin Thunder last night in NFL Europe, Fred Jackson had 16 carries for a game-high 63 yards, and four catches for 56 yards. I actually got to see the game on the NFL Network. Can't tell you how cool it was to watch Fred play on television.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

While I despise the soccer lines in the Rock Bowl, it makes sense. There is no room to add more practice facilities or game facilities for any sport. It was something that could not be stopped.....it's evil...I know

Confused,
I don't know if they are gonna go for Hoskins.  I think he would definitely be an awesome for the job, but it's my understanding that him and Jim Collins aren't exactly close.  which definitely creates a problem.

I have limited info but Central's daily news is reporting that former Central coach Ron Schipper passed away unexpectedly on Sunday. This is all I know and the story isn't even on the athletics webpage. Just take a moment to remember the coach who transformed the Iowa Conference.

the_wing_t

The sad news is accurate.  Coach Ron Schipper passed away.  No word yet on funeral arrangements.  Division III has lost one of the greatest coaching legends ever.   He did so much for college football - not just for Central College.  He promoted the sport around the world - coaching the Division III All Stars in the Aztec Bowl since 1997, taking Central College teams on trips to Australia, Europe, Mexico, etc.  He also was the president of the AFCA.  God Bless Coach Schipper and his family.  We'll all miss you.  Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I don't think I'd be making too much fun of the Simpson and Loras fields if my team had a big BROWN and Orange "W" in the center of it when school colors are BLACK and orange!!

Confused77

It is a sad day. not only in Dutch Nation, but the rest of D3 football when you lose a man the Coach Schipper... My thoughts are with the Schipper family
