I'll start with preseason COY

Glgolowashiskiwitz of Simpson.  I dunno, something about his track record leads me to think The Storm take advantage of experience at QB, a solid RB and OL and mix it with some newly inspired D.  They seem to be under the RADAR.

Obviously I'd like to see the Rams go .500 or better and get Coach Dillon a shot...we'll see on that.

But my vote is cast for this new Simpson coach.

Hey Doolittle!

Is the Lucky Lawnmower of Antioch tuned up and ready?

Ash Park

COY nominations

Dillon if the rams can get to .500....i'll be praying every night for that

Brautigam at UD I think has a shot if they turn out another season like last season or better...especially because of the big losses of some key players.

Glo at Simpson has a very good shot as Heys stated and I think Simpson could surprise some people this years. I really liked the reutzel (spelling) kid at running back for them.

Based on experience and talent on the roster, IMO the Norse could still use QB Sweers and WR Pearson from 2006 more than the outstanding Sherden.  The passing game needs to be more consistent and a legit threat in 2008.

Floyd, I agree with you here...in fact my rationale for souring on the Norse last year was just that fact...no Sweers or Pearson.

Now with Sherden gone and Stavast gone in front too, can the Norse find an identity on offense?

Good camp story there, Walston.  Reminds me of another time (the same summer as my other story actually)  that about 25 of us showed up for a summer practice.  We broke down into position groups and one of my fellow linemen noticed that our captain had showed up in a car that wasn't what he normally drove and asked what the deal was.  The "normal" car was an '86 Caprice (this was the summer of '98).  He looks at us and says "My dad's working on it.  I came home last night leaking gas, so we checked it out and there's a hole in the gas tank.  So my dad's welding it shut."  The rest of us must have had pretty alarmed looks on our faces, because a beat he says "Oh, don't worry.  We drained it first."

Its weird to think abou it, but as bad as we were when I was in high school, I have much better stories from practices and workouts than from actual games.

I mowed yesterday and the mower appears ready to work its mojo come football season!!!

All this talk on here about out-of-shape players showing up for practice makes me realize that this 40 year old probably couldn't run a 100yd dash without puking a few minutes later.  I'm pretty sure they don't want you pacing yourself during a 100yd dash...hence the "dash" part in the title!!!

Last year I had pretty good feel for how the teams might stack up.

This year, I can't lock down on any one team as to where EXACTLY I think they may land.  I can generally see who will be nearer to the top, middle and bottom, but exactly in what order I can't make up my mind.

Every time I write the Kaniggets as the preseason #1, I get cold feet and think of a half dozen reasons why the Dutch will finish first.

I am thinking that the DBQ and Simpson are next, but there are reasons why I think any of the others could pop up here... even the Rams in my crazy, deluded opinion.

I think it's easier to predict the Synchronized Diving:  I pick the Chinese.

If I were to pick with my heart...

Cornell finishes first.

Coe finishes last.

The rest is noise.

Regarding Synchronized Diving...

Just once...once...I'd like to see them do a synchronized cannonball.   ;D

For the record, the whole Favre saga has tired me on the whole prognostication game. I think I'll just wait and see how things play out from now on. I'm not getting any younger.

I am downstairs and on here because my wife and 7 year old daughter are watching the olympics.  Me...for some reason between posting on here I am watching TLC and "Pregnant for 46 years"  about ectopictic pregnancies.  Very weird.
