I am also thinking over the next few months we will see a lot of posting from Walston Hoover around the 2am time frame...coinciding with certain feeding habits of the new little one!!!
Or coinciding with the time they are born.
I'm kind of worried about tonight. Little bugger's been sleeping all day.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Another Knight fan entered the world at 1:56 this morning and God is chuckling away after giving me 2 girls.
Elisa Joy (Ellie) is 7 lb, 2 oz and 19 inches long. Has a nice head of blonde hair like her mom and sister and is quite a cutie if I do say so myself.
Mom and baby are doing excellent.
I am beat.
For the last 4 weeks I've had my phone on me at football practice and even the slightest twitch or sound had me going for it. Go figure my wife calls me for over an hour last night trying to get a hold of me and I never heard a thing. She got a hold of Coach WIlson and he tracked me down.
Its going to take quite a while to make up for that one.

Congrats WH,glad to hear everyone is doing OK.

Mr. Ypsi

WH,

If Ellie takes up gymnastics, she'll be eligible for the 2024 Olympics (or, if you move to China, she could go in 2020). ;D

Congrats to Tom Breitbach on the article in the Register on him today.  I hope he has a great season except for one game.

If you saw her mother or I, You'd know that would never happen.  Basketball or Volleyball perhaps.
My wife comes from a family where being a 6'2 male makes you feel short. Wife is 5'10.5  I think old VB programs have her at 5'11. Of course my old football programs have me at 6'2. Maybe with rugby cleats on concrete.

Make that 2

You mean Dubuque isn't the only school that adds an inch or two to an athlete in the program???  I am shocked  ;D

And make that 3 teams regarding Breitbach!!!

I come from a family where 5'8 is considered gigantic.  My wife's family you get the women all 5'5 and under...but the men are all right at about 6'2.  Apparently our girls are falling right in line with the short stature.  Our son appears headed for the 6'2 side of the family.

I am sticking by my prediction that WH will be coaching his girls youth soccer teams a decade from now!!!

looking for that article about Breitbach is it in the Des Moines Register?

Congratulations Walston.  Sounds like the Ankeny Hawks better be making sure you do not leave the community because power forward and outside/middle hitter might be taken care of for a few years ;D

Here is an article I am sure will spark debate.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/94/opinions_college08_Americas-Best-Colleges_Rank.html

Forbes made a ranking of colleges.  569 in all I think.  I scanned it quickly so I might have missed some schools.

Cornell was tops for the IIAC coming in at 71.  Finishing higher than Cornell University at 121...also finishing higher than Notre Dame at 77, Johns Hopkins at 81, and Grinnell at 107!!!

Coe came in at 182
Luther at 188
Simpson at 241
Wartburg at 430
Central at 554

I didn't see Dubuque, Loras, or BV in there  ???

Also of note there was Iowa at 331, UNI at 472, Drake at 486 and ISU at 563!!!

Yes there is a special section in the Register today.  It is the all football section.

Belated Congratulations WH!

Moved footballkid in yesterday. The atmosphere in Waverly is electric. There is a feeling of that there is a job to do, and it's time to get to work.

Central was on the same page as Iowa State.  The question I had was where do you find what criteria they used to make up this list.  How objective it is or was there some subjective items on the list?

Keep in mind Cornell has had 3 Fulbright scholars and two Goldwater scholars among other awards in just the past three years. For a campus of just under 1200 students, that's pretty amazing.

Hum, this is a pretty sketchy ranking. As a Loras supporter it's kind of rough to take, especially coming off last year's US News #12 Midwest ranking.  Cornell is obviously a great school, but is it ahead of Grinnell, Johns Hopkins and a third of the Ivy League?? (Woot! for Cornell regardless)

Rough rating for the state schools too, ouch. ISU's president must have been outspoken against Steve Forbes' flat tax idea or something.
Not going to lie...Dewey is a pretty good looking bird/furry beaked body builder.
