Does anyone know if there's been a Lance Harbor sighting lately?  Rumor has it he sells nuclear materials now and is moving to DC soon.  Sounds top secret.

Runor blowing off the lake is BV job going to guy on staff.  Unbelievable, if they wanted that guy, then they should have hired immeadately, WTF!  Does anyone have any pertanent info?

The Show

It's been knocked down to 3.  No Simpson affiliates in the group.  Last interview was Friday I believe.  I think they're hoping to announce a hire this week.

I would think that since it has taken this long, it'd hurt Anderson's chances at the head job, but I have no inside info to confirm or disprove that theory...

All for now!

I think the real thriller of that era had to be the Beaty kid from Wartburg...

or perhaps the two e-ends from Wartburg that held Kac in check in 94.

But then I'm bias also.

Congratulations to Jay Anderson for being named head football coach at Buena Vista.

The other finalists were University of South Dakota's Defensive Backs Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Jim Glogowski and Pittsburgh State's Defensive Backs Coach, Lance Cullen.

However, by promoting Anderson, I don't think much, if any, recruiting has been affected.  Just a little surprised that it took this long to hire from within...

Lance Harbor

Show - Thanks for the info.  Glad to see that BV got someone from within.  This should help make the transition more smooth.

Not to get off-subject, but Harbor is very much alive and well.  The 2005-2006 off-season has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for me, but I'm pleased to announce that I'll be relocating to Viriginia sometime this Fall.  I should be very close to Salem, VA -- home of the Stagg Bowl.

Sportsknight - Top Secret?...Let's just say that my security clearance could take up to eight months to process.  When I went in to interview with them, they wouldn't let me go into the actual building.  They just had me sit in a room in their visitor's center.  I got the feeling they take their work pretty seriously.

Either way, I'm hoping to get some time off in between jobs, and possibly come up to good old Walston-Hoover Stadium for a game or two.  I'll keep you posted.

Good to hear BV made their decision. I think it is a good one.

It will be interesting to see how the new coaches in the IIAC do. Is it August yet?  Wait...I still have golf outings to play in before August. Wish I could make the rounds of IIAC Football golf outings...I have 2 down...anyone else need a guy for their 4-some?

Lance:

Good to hear from you again.

Don't worry about that security stuff.  That's about what it was like trying to get into Hebron Hall when I was at Wartburg.  It is amazing that Walston-Hoover's father-in-law and I were able to beat the security and actually find wives behind those sealed doors.

Lance, are you following in Mommy's footsteps and working for the Feds now?
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

You should go to the Stagg Bowl, even if your team isn't in it.

2003 Coe graduate Fredrick Jackson had his first 100-yard rushing performance for NFL Europe's Rhein Fire on Saturday. Jackson compiled 123 yards on 13 carries, including a 56-yarder, in the Fire's 27-24 victory over the Berlin Thunder.

Jackson also caught two passes for 43 yards and returned four punts 24 yards. Rhein remains a game behind Amsterdam at 5-2 with three games to play.

The Fire-Thunder game will air on NFL Network at 7 p.m. Sunday. Coe fans will gather at the Chrome Horse Slophouse and Saloon for the game's tape-delayed broadcast.

There's a good article about Freddy on the Rhein Fire website. Even if you're not a Coe fan, you should appreciate someone from our conference having this kind of success.

Reads a little like the Notables story we posted earlier this evening. :)
