Thank you Dutch, I had no idea how Coe and the Johnnies came into this.

From the sounds of things on the MIAC board, I'm surprised the posters leave the tailgate to attend the game most of the time. The games can't be nearly as exciting as beer pong and other chugging contests! :D

So, what's Bethel bringing to the table this season? Is Porta still a factor, or did he graduate? Are you guys running the same offense?

I"ll take beer pong and other chugging contests for $100.00  Alex.  Rarely does the word Bethel come out before someone throws in the word sucks.  Especially this early in the off season, but I will tell you Porta is back for his final year, and they return more starters from last season than many past seasons.  Any more said right now than that would just send the pink headed stepchild off the Hamms deep end.

Sorry CoooCooo, I am not sure how Coe came into the post, but they are obviously a very good football team as they finished an obvious 23rd in the country last year.

Coe came into the post because:

1. I'm  CooCoo
2. Any chat is better than no chat...
3. ...unless it is chat about Hamms.

I must concur with you about the MIAC board.  The IIAC might not be as active, but we keep it to DIII sports at least. 8)
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Hey, Coocoo. I'm Coco.

You IIAC folks have a novel concept, in actually talking about football on your board, instead of discussing only beer, hamburgers, and town festivals.
Warty and DutchFan1, I miss you! I want the season to start.
Will Walston Hoover be announcing again this year?

Wildcat11, those are great clips of Freddy Jackson that you posted. Man, he's fun to watch.

I see I haven't missed much around here. But Dutchfan1's jab about Coe-Dubuque hurt. We're going to avenge that one this season. Allegedly, Dubuque's coach told his team they clearly won the second half in last year's 40-21 Kohawk home win. It was 34-0 at half. (Insert clever joke here.)

Hey Charlie,

I am looking forward to your piece on world record skydiver, and Coe graduate, Shaun "whitey"  White.  If you want my two cents, you should give him the cover.  Not too many world record holders in Kohawk nation.  You should have him land at halftime of the homecoming game right on the fifty yardline. 8)

That would make a great homecoming weekend for me.  My wife's ten year reunion and my best friend as the halftime entertainment.
We might even draw some alumni to the game in order to see Whitey do his stuff.  I know I would do my best to promote it.  I think it would draw at least twenty or so alumni that otherwise wouldn't come to homecoming, maybe more.

Sorry, Charlie, for the jab....I couldn't resist.  ;)

Coco -- how's life in the Pacific NW? What's the word on the Wildcat's? Will we see a national contending team again? What happened to Bluenote? He hasn't been out stirring up trouble recently -- it's June; shouldn't he be harassing the Johnnie faithful by now?  ;D

RA,

I think you will be surprised.  Simpson played us very well last year.  I dont know what will happen with Simpson as they lost the Cain (receiver) kid from Prairie City and much of a very good D line.  They stopped us last year pretty well but couldn't move the ball on us.  I was very impressed with Bethel last year.  We were lucky to come out with a win.  If Simpson replaces the D line they might stop Porta from running all over the field.  I think it will be a very good game Good luck to both teams.

DutchFan1,

The news here sucks, with Coach Locey leaving, but we'll get by because we have to. I don't think The Streak will be in danger. At a luncheon last weekend, he did tell us that we've got tall QBs coming in, but that our receivers won't be as big as we've had in the past.
It could be one of those dreaded building years which we all have every so often.

Bluenote has been AWOL lately. Someone said he's living in a cave in Crete, but that's just a rumor. I'm sure he'll be back by football season.

Walston Hoover

Hey all,
Haven't been around for a while. No excuses for missing off-season workouts, I know.
All that talk about food from the MIAC board is making me hungry, and it's only 9:15.
I guess you can consider this my official release that I will not be calling Wartburg games for 2006.
Who would have thought that coaching and a baby would take up so much time ???
I'll still be at most of the games though. I just no longer will have to sit through the UD and Cornell games
For those of you interested in recruiting-A couple of my Dowling boys will be balling it up in the IIAC next year.

Couple other guys going to the JUCO route or D2

Interesting that no one is going to Cornell to play for their old coach ;)
Hope to still see everyone at games this year.

There's a webcam on the go-knights.net site with the new wellness center progress. Basically a hole in the ground (a big hole at that) right now. But may be interesting to look at in the future.

On or near September 20th, I'll have that same predicament...

I mean seriously, who plans that in the middle of football season!!! ::)

The wheels are in motion Coocoo. Better get on the horn with your buds and have them turn up for homecoming.

Congratulations and welcome to the brotherhood of sleepwalkers.
I know 2 HS head coaches right now whose wives are due in the middle of August. Talk about a busy fall.
