Sounds like Wartburg better give it up for this year and start focusing on next year. I hope we can keep it within 3 scores against the mighty rams.

I do not think I would go chagning my predictions for the season based on Wartburgs scrimage.  Yordi is a good QB and as long as the boys will follow him they will still be at the top.  As much as I would like to see a changing of the guard at the top, I do not see it this season.  Maybe we will have a suprise, like Cornell winning a ball game ;)  Sorry Heys and Ash I just wanted to stir brother ShowMe up a bit.  One more week until the IIAC kicks off and we get to see how boys hit the ground running.

You know what the dog said when the lawn mower ran over his tail, it won't be long now!

and it just might be Wartburg too! It's not impossible!

Well, if anyone can have a stellar season, but still manage to lose to a middle- to a bottom-feeder team, it's Wartburg*. Cornell, do you guys have a victory bell to ring?  ;D

*2007-Augsburg, 2006-UD, 2005-Luther, 2004-Loras and BV...

Yes, it's possible

We need some Straight Talk, your footing states Central has won 29 IIAC Championships, some recent research by a fine respectable blogger reports Central at 21 conference Championships. I need to know the turth so that I may adjust my dreams for Cornell to take the lead in conference championship wins

Showme you can research all this yourself on the IIAC website.  I see KCDutch set the record more clearly for you.  There was no forked talk in either statement.  It was correct if you read the posts they are or do become clear.  Then if you research the site you can find it out yourself.

Here is the site you can do your research now.

W'loo Courier article on WC running backs Alex Boom and Tim Jones

http://wcfcourier.com/articles/2008/09/02/sports/local/10579669.txt

Gentlemen, time for a little Straight Talk,

The Wartburg roster list both Mr. Boom and Mr. Jones at  5' 11". Take a look at the picture in this article. It looks like Mr. Jones is at least 2" taller than Mr. Boom. Now something is not right, help me to understand. I'm thinking it's called paper intimidation.  Are the mighty Knights engaged in physiological warfare? Is this a sign of confidence?

physiological
  adj.

   1. Of or relating to physiology.
   2. Being in accord with or characteristic of the normal functioning of a living organism.
   3. Of or being an additive primary color.

Aren't you Cornell people supposed to be smarter than the rest of us?

Well that is the claim as they are supposed to be more selective in their students.  We all know that book smart is different than every day smart.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Look's like the Knights can give it but not very good at taking it. I wonder what the attitude would be if the Knights were the last place team battling for respect?

It doesn't take much to hear the whining now. Please don't lose the title, it want be pretty around the board.

Things that make you go ??????????

Where did you go to school?  You constantly use the wrong words.  I can cut some slack for type o's but you use use want for won't all the time.  You ignorance is showing with your constant chanting of how great Cornell is.  You would think that you are a supporter of MUC.  I too am like SK in that I love the support of all the fans on this board, but you not only cross the line but you break it.

BV supporter...Wartburg, well I never liked to play against them...But I am sure that Wartburg will never be a last place team battling for respect...I am thinking EVER.  I hear ya on your loyalty/suport for your team, I love it, but please lets not knock teams that are well, "better" than your Rams.  Wartburg has a strong winning tradition, and holy football they lose a game, or not win a title.  Would we honestly rip on the kinght fans for going 7-3?  No, because they consistantly have 6-7-8 wins a year.  If for some reason, which is doubtful they would go 3-7, now, then the playful banter can happen, but seriously, would that happen?  The aggresive nature is good to see, but lets keep the low blows to a minimum...I dun't won't  ;) to here anythong aboot Cornall geting beet bi Wartborg latter in the Seesin, or winnnning the title.

MNbeev

And P.S. having a little people's day at BV is one way for the Beavers to recruit running backs a long time ago, after the Days of having big backs, the beavers went for the primordial dwarfs to take the snaps, even though they get tired easily, and have bitter bones, the Beavers thought that having a small back that could run would help the team.  And as we all saw over the past seasons and having a minimal run game the beavers came to terms and recruited bigger backs...and that is the story of how BV established a run game  :D...

Now if we can just get an, whats that called, they block, and they're big?  In front of the QB, FB, RB?

Geeze when did things get so serious on here that a guy can't stir things up or smell a conspiracy, or hit a typo?  We will never get to 1300 pages if we are only going to post well researched proof read facts and no sloppy bs.

The Wartburg SID has been taking notes from the Simpson SID.  The Wartburg website states...Fifteen consecutive seven-or-more win seasons

I agree with fannosaurus...we really shouldn't be getting our panties in a bunch.  If Cornell goes down in flames you can then take that opportunity to give some good natured ribbing back towards ShowMe.  I suspect he would be able to take it with a large grain of salt.

To be fair, if we are going to harass ShowMe for his unbridaled enthusiasm for the Rams, we are going to have to harass Doolittle for ending just about EVERY sentance he types with (count 'em) three exclamation marks!!! We can't leave him out, he's excited too!!!

And, if we are going to correct people's grammar and word usage, we had better make sure that our posts are perfect, too. DF2004, you're mixing metaphors. (...you not only cross the line but you break it.)

Come on, guys, chill -- the season's about to start. We'll really have something to fight about in a couple of weeks.   ;)

I am not trying to jump anyone, really, it might be the coffee,  that the season starts saturday, or it could be one of those mornings where I am always right, and everyone is wrong, which happens, but by any means isn't true.  I apologize...

But it does seem that every year we do get a (1) Cornell fan that does have high expectations (which isn't bad, it is a support thing) for the Rams.  Some one on the board puts them down, they say something back, the board jumps on the 1 ram fan and they get ripped on for eternity...

Nothing wrong with it  :) but seems to take place every year...

I do remember a Dubuque fan one year, that lasted a day, Dubuque's season was a bust, then program got turned around...Could history repeat it's self, but in Purple and white?

It's been a long camp. We're tired of hitting each other and its making for some short fuses. Saturday we get to hit someone else.  >:(

I'm looking at the emoticons and I don't see one for game face.  Maybe Pat can work on that.

Yep, I am excited to see the season start...hopefully in a few weeks I will not be excited to see the season end!!!  (just had to throw those 3 in for Dutchie ;D)  I will put me in the category of "cautiously optimistic" at this point.

At this time on Saturday we will be dropping our kids off at their grandparents and heading off to Mt. Vernon for the first of two IIAC games that day!!!  (another 3 for Dutchie)  I do put those in a lot don't I???  And it just occurred to me that 3 is my lucky number...hmm...must be a subliminal thing I guess  ;D ;D ;D

Today is an awful day  :'( I guess it would have been awful a few weeks ago when teams reported to camp if I had looked at Central's roster and saw that Nate Snead & bro are on it. Nate et al are relatives of one of my best friends and a stand out former Spartan Football Player and Iowa Shrine Bowl Player. What's worse is the Snead parents are also UD alums  :'( How could they do this to me and the Spartan Nation???? I will never understand???

I wish the Snead's well but am VERY disappointed by their choice. Last I knew Nate was at Drake, if I had known he was looking to transfer, I would have been all over him to come to UD!!! I would have even put a new ROOF on my house!! Anything, whatever it would have took!!!

I feel sorry for the rest of the conference, this kid is for real. His 1st cousin, who plays for Dubuque Hempstead and rushed for 212 yards and had 4 TD's last friday, just signed with ISU. If things don't work out for him, I will not make the same mistake and let him slip to the enemy!!!!
