Come on, guys, chill -- the season's about to start. We'll really have something to fight about in a couple of weeks.   ;)
It's been a long camp. We're tired of hitting each other and its making for some short fuses. Saturday we get to hit someone else.  >:(

I'm looking at the emoticons and I don't see one for game face.  Maybe Pat can work on that.

Today is an awful day  :'( I guess it would have been awful a few weeks ago when teams reported to camp if I had looked at Central's roster and saw that Nate Snead & bro are on it. Nate et al are relatives of one of my best friends and a stand out former Spartan Football Player and Iowa Shrine Bowl Player. What's worse is the Snead parents are also UD alums  :'( How could they do this to me and the Spartan Nation???? I will never understand???

I wish the Snead's well but am VERY disappointed by their choice. Last I knew Nate was at Drake, if I had known he was looking to transfer, I would have been all over him to come to UD!!! I would have even put a new ROOF on my house!! Anything, whatever it would have took!!!

I feel sorry for the rest of the conference, this kid is for real. His 1st cousin, who plays for Dubuque Hempstead and rushed for 212 yards and had 4 TD's last friday, just signed with ISU. If things don't work out for him, I will not make the same mistake and let him slip to the enemy!!!!

Willie U

Why did Snead transfer from Drake ??? ???  Anyone got some inside their QB is a senior this year ??? ???

We're already working on him, I'm sure.  Dustin Baethke signed with UNI too.   ;)  Things didn't turn out too bad for him.

I heard Central was having a reunion party for kids from that SE Polk team.  Snead isn't the only transfer.

Not just transfers but kids for SEP that came there out of HS.  Viggers (spelling) the current FG kicker is a SEP grad and I think there are some lineman from there as well.

Yes, coaching change, poor recruiting class due to coaching change, and thought the upper classmen leadership was horrible. Did not see a bright future at Drake.

Without revealing my source (who may or may not be accurate <-- how''s that for a disclaimer??) :)  I hear that Central will soon be home to Nate Snead (currently at Drake), Brett Wilkin (currently at Iowa), Ben Burzacott, Shane Wong -- all standouts on the SEP 2006 Championship team.

Again, water cooler speculation....

Willie U, we dangled this piece of news in Februray. You've gotta start reading this board in the winter.  ;D

Look's like the Knights can give it but not very good at taking it. I wonder what the attitude would be if the Knights were the last place team battling for respect?

It doesn't take much to hear the whining now. Please don't lose the title, it want be pretty around the board.

Things that make you go ??????????

Thanks for the feedback

Where did you go to school?  You constantly use the wrong words.  I can cut some slack for type o's but you use use want for won't all the time.  You ignorance is showing with your constant chanting of how great Cornell is.  You would think that you are a supporter of MUC.  I too am like SK in that I love the support of all the fans on this board, but you not only cross the line but you break it.

TheOne89.1

Another weekend (extended thanks to Labor Day) away from the computer and it takes almost an hour to catch up.  Too bad I didn't get a speed reading course (or go to Cornell), maybe I could have gotten through it quicker.

As for my Labor Day weekend.  Mentioned the Friday Night High School Football game we covered between St. Charles and Caledonia (MN).  Saturday I made may way to Heaven (no, it's Iowa) all the way down to Benton county to the town of Van Horne.  Surprise birthday party (BBQ and drinking) for fellow teammate and roommate, the Hurricane.  Even got to hear SK on the radio as I cruised past Waterloo, IA.  Sunday I headed back North to the land of lakes for a trip to Canterbury Park for some Horse Racing.  Ended up bringing home an extra $40 or so (not bad for a first timer).  Monday was travel back home day and another BBQ just for the hell of it.

Doesn't sound quite as much fun as the NE Iowa Wedding that Klopenhiemer (I assume it was in NE IA because that sounds like something straight out of Decorah/Calmar).  Not quite as much FB as I wanted, but this is the week that starts it all.  I also learned I might get a quick peak at the Knights when the play at Augsburg if I can fit it into my schedule that day.

Good Luck to all teams this Saturday.  It would be nice to see an IIAC sweep.

Yeah, Although I do check in on occasion, I do not read past pages during off months often so miss out on some conversation. If I had read that one, I would have certainly reacted with an immediate phone call to my buddy. Whether or not that would have produced a possible closer look at the Spartans, I do not know. Sounds like Central had a connection with SEP that would have taken more then Snead's UD ties to come between....

Oh well, you all should be thankful. My buddy said he was going to the central game this weekend and I asked why the heck he would be doing that??? And that is how this whole thing started today ;D Now, if I see my buddy wearing anything red and white, then we will cease to be friends and I will cut him out of my wedding picture!

My Friends,

Based on my experience, some of the bloggers need an attitude adjustment.

If I recall, I've only expressed my optimism and got shot down. I was asked to provide details for my optimism and I did. I believe the details provided a realistic view, not that it is 100% correct. Never has I said that Cornell is so great.  Now the back and forth came from the attacks I took and folks on the board quickly tried to paint me a bragging even though I have consistently stated my view of the challenges Cornell face.

Most of the arrogance targeted towards me have come from supporters of the winning football programs, which leads me to believe those fans feel like they are a special group and off limits from thinking they can loss a football game, especially to lowly Cornell.

Well, let me give you some advice, I will not back down. I can take it and give it too. So my advice to those that cannot see thing beyond their own personal world, people do see things differently and there will be reactions.   The impossible is possible.

Actually, my comments on Wartburg 5' 11' players was intended to be a joke, you can read the board to see what I'm saying about the attitudes and the narrow visions.

should be an interesting weekend.  Friday night coaching at Kingston vs. Kennedy.  Should be big becuase Jefferson beat #7 Xavier this last week.  Then the Kohawks play Augustana at 7 PM.  Should be another big night game.  First time these guys have played under the lights since they were in high school.  Rumor also has it that the Augustana QB is 5' 5" tall and he returns punts for them.  Can't wait for this weekend to start watchin D3 football again.

I know that this is some what the same situation but I think UD had their QB waiting for Graduation.  Central had Bandow and Lackey but they did not get many reps last year.  I think Snead could have seen an opportunity at Central that was not there for him at UD.  What's your take on that Willie?

I don't think he is 5'5" tall but he is very short.  They did not have a roster for the Auggie players but if he is over 5'10' and I doubt it I would be surprised.
