Cussing again.  Carleton 38-14 pending the PAT

Our defense should consider hiring out as an escort service.

Bring on Coe.

The Rams were clearly looking past Carleton to the Kohawks.

PH, +k for your assessment on the Cornell defense.

Could be some movement in the D3 poll this week.  #3 Wesley and #5 Bethel have been upset today and Eau Claire came just a field goal short of knocking off #2 Whitewater.  #15 North Central and #16 Ohio Northern play later today.  So if Wartburg looks good against Augsburg tonight, next week's game could become a Top 15 showdown instead of only a Top 20 matchup.

Also, it looks like Simpson may have taken a step backwards, only beating Northwestern 9-6 in what I assume was a field goal fest.

The only thing I like that Cornell did was get Bush more involved running and passing.  Outside of that it was nothing more than complete embarassment.  I know the offense needs to hang on to the ball more but the D did not show up to play in any way, shape, or form.  The two losses thus far from the Rams have not even been against quality teams.  For the first time I'm not looking forward to the Coe/Cornell game.
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

Its a final in CR...Gustavus 27 Coe 19.

The Oldest Rivalry West of the Mississippi will be a battle of winless teams next Saturday.

Well...I only listened on the internet.

But...the fumbles killed, 3 of 4 led DIRECTLY to TD's within 2 plays of the turnover.

So, yeah the defense needs to bow up when the offense fails.  But twice inside the 15 to come away empty for the offense, doesn't help take any pressure off the Defense.

This game could have been a 28-25 win IF the Offense closed the deal and scored with their opportunities....oh and didn't fumble the $#^%* football.

Can't abide by a situation where the defense can't get more than 1 "3 and out" per game.

Can we beat Coe?

We need to put the same defensive effort together as last year...and offensively, if we fumble even once then we are hosed.

Coe at 0-2 is not gonna be looking elsewhere...kinda would rather of seen them win the GA game.  Then take a week off, to get upset by us.

Bright spots...

Bush threw better 20-33 no picks.

Macey, 10 catches for 81     :)  (And I think 2 flattened LB's)
Struble, 4 for 86

Bladt, INT to set up the Rams for the go ahead TD early in the 3rd Qtr.

2 Blocked PAT's  (Ohno for one, not sure the other)

Then the bottom fell out.

Do not entirely concur...

Grinnell:  A bad team that we undervalued and they played a good game.
But hardly a team that is up to IIAC standards

Carleton:  They have their challenges defensively (some of which can be attributed to some Cornell talent exposing it).  But Offensively, Carleton has one of the better passing attacks perhaps in D3.  They will give fits in the MIAC (or the IIAC for that matter).  Carleton is a good team from a good conference, that may have a thing or two to say in their conference.

Cornell had its shot against Carleton, and flubbed it.

Coe does not have the offense we saw today.  But they certainly have a better Defense.

There is. Hopefully the Knights can come through tonight so the college football weekend isn't a total loss for me.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we won't see a very high-scoring affair between Cornell and Coe next week.  The defenses of both teams seem to be their strength right now.

Any word on how the Loras game turned out?
