WEEK #7 - Sportsknight collects another doorstop
Cornell @ Dubuque:  I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb to say that if either of these teams are going to get a conference win, this would be the week to get it.  The last two years, it certainly looked like Dubuque had pulled themselves up out of a perrenial spot at the bottom of the standings, but they just haven't been the same this year.  Here's a chance for them to get back on track before the big rivalry game with Loras next week.  It might take the whole four quarters for the Spartans to lock this one up, though.

Not going to lie...Dewey is a pretty good looking bird/furry beaked body builder.

BV is at Coe on Nov. 1st.

Thanks, Show, I thought so.  I just checked the Coe schedule.   ;D

BV hosts Luther, Waldorf & Central yet this year and ends the year at Cornell (which by the way, I'd bet a healthy sum of money on vs Walston's prediction).

I'm not sure if you have been properly welcomed to the board or if I missed it. Welcome at any rate, I'm sure DBQ1965 will get you added to the list under the proper heading. Good luck to your team this week and every week after you leave Decorah.

Thunderbolt ...

I must have been asleep at the throttle ... so which IIAC is yours?

Luther @ Buena Vista
Alan Bladt LB is BV's leading tackler and surprisingly, is not on pace to make a million tackles.  BV also seems to know a thing or two about the red zone because they score 86.7% of the time while their opponents only score 64.3% (IIAC games only).  Other that that, I don't really see what makes BV so successful.  Statistically, they're pretty average.  They just get the job done.

Linebacker U?   ;D  Perhaps even scarier, two of their starting LB's are freshmen!

Doolittle,

Bad prediction on the pickems.  I will be in CR for the Coe game this weekend.  Care to change anything?   ;D ;D ;D ;D  That could have been the missing part of the loss to Luther I don't want to make that mistake again.

If I had a better winning percentage I would change my pick in the Coe/Central game.  If I can go 3-1 this week with that being my only miss...I will take it!!!  I suppose that is a pretty straight shot for you across hwy 30.  63 degrees and sunny on saturday should make for a good day of football.  PH would be wearing thermal undies and a ski mask...but a good day for football for most of the rest of us!!!

I know about the weather.  Son said that it is getting into the sixties at night in Cali and that the players have gotten their long sleeves out for practice at night as it is still in the 90's during the day so they have had evening practices.  He just smiles at them and goes out in his short sleeves.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

C'mon, we all know that San Diegans freeze at sub-60's temperatures.  At +3 (or 63 degrees to youse in the polar regions of our country) We stay indoors and catch the game on TV.

I just gotta say this...

Every time I hear or read, Luther, I get the mental image of Jerry Van Dyke...

How about Luther in 48HRS? As in:

Luther! How ya doin' man? Sorry about the door. It looked really painfull the way you flew into it.

I always enjoyed that show.  Not near as much, though, as the Wartburg football player I went to school with that named his dog "Dauber."

Wow 5WOL:

The reticent has become verbose!

Great post though, good insight, but you typically have underestimated the Dutch tradition.  The Kohawks are doomed by the emergence of the QB/LB and the maturing Dutch D.  They're still capable of an 8-2 finish and the eventual share for the 30th conference championship.

Wart fans,
I heard the the president of Gustavus is going to be in town for "The W" dedication tomorrow.

You've been informed/warned.

Happy Homecoming Knights.
