Having looked back I picked Luther to finish at 5 in the conference.  But to show you how little I really know I picked BV to finish dead last (and Loras 6th or 7th).  That isn't going to happen so I am WAY off.

That's OK .1 . Some people were picking Cornell to get their conference win this year against Luther. But who knows the Norse are playing the Knights the week before the Rams

"What to watch: The winner remains squarely in the mix for the Iowa Conference title. The loser will need significant help as both teams have already lost to league-leading Buena Vista. ... Loras tailback Alex McGrew is the IIAC's leading rusher and ninth nationally at 147 yards per game. Receiver Ben McMahon, a Columbus alum, is second in the IIAC with 25 receptions for 411 yards and six scores."

Wart 25 Loras 20
BV 21 Luther 16
"The Norse hasn't allowed a point since the first quarter against Central two weeks ago – a span of seven-plus quarters and 109 minutes."

Vetter is a wideout is he not?  Wartburg already has a fine TE in Ryan Hoerner...who as a result of Vetter's success is probably not getting as many balls thrown his way.

That bandwagon will be a unicycle after this weekend!
You probably can't get into Storm Lake with anything much wider can you?
And where the heck is Klop. I'm a little disappointed to not have a few barbs from him this week.

I'm sure he'll chime in before kickoff.  All-in-all, it should be a great game.  I'm off for a HS road game shortly, I'll check back in later tonight.

I'm sorry I won't be able to be at the Central Coe game tomorrow.  I have a feeling a couple of Central guys will have break out games so that we learn who the next stars are going to be and they get the season turned around.  Plus, I've never been to Cedar Rapids and I'm guessing they have some good Bohemian restaurants.

i'm doubting they will have any break out stars on offense, but possibly on defense.  I'm guessing Coe is looking to make a statement here this weekend.

i'm guessing if they did, they were in the Czech village, which is still pretty tore up from the floods, I believe.

I think you could be right.  This year's seniors are a great group of young men, though they do not seem to be quite the same leaders as we have had in the past.  I think the rest of the year we are going to see the future leaders of the team step forward and show that ability.  Central has always been a team that followed Schipper's advice when good things happened to "act like you have been there before".  Central is a team that leans towards quiet confidence instead of overt swagger and, in a down season that is not something we have seen often, perhaps we need a little more overt leadership and it may just come from an underclassman.  We have had some young players and other new to the program players that have really been doing a good job in whatever position they have been asked to fill.  Why not team leadership?

Sounds like two teams with something to prove tomorrow at K. Ray!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

There is no doubt I'm on the Luther bandwagon this weekend, but 1st Wartburg has to take care of business against Loras.   I hope the Knight team I expected to see his season takes the field today.  If not, this getting up at 5:00 to be on the road at 6:00 is really going to torque me off.
We'll be tailgating in Little Warthog's kitchen today.  Being able to eat brats without wearing gloves may be a nice change.
Hope to see some of you Knight fans at Oktoberfest after the game.  Nothing like a second round of brats and beer to make my day complete.

This is a bad day to be a Duhawk.

But then again, is there such a thing as a good day to be a Duhawk? ???

You know, I used to live in the area and read the Courier daily.  Worst 5 minutes of my day.  What they don't say is 4 of these 7 seven quarters were against that powerhouse team from Forest City.  The first three occurred during what Central is having documented in a prime time sitcom entitled "Worst Week"
