OK, perhaps I should look at time of possession, because as I investigate further I discover the Wartburg O is averaging about 6 more points a game than they have in the 3 previous seasons.  With the running game woes it seems the offense is struggling.  I could be wrong, perhaps Wartburg is just having to rely on Mr. Yordi's arm and quick strikes.  I am shocked that the offensive points/game is as high as it is so far this season.  I guess this talk of MVP Yordi isn't all that far fetched. 

It could be a different year than in most.  If Wartburg loses to the Norse I mean Rockets they will be in second place a tie for the league lead.  If there is a log jam at the top then all bets are off on POY.  If the Knights wind up on top then there is a very strong case for Yordi.  About the D I just thought that would be the strength of the Knights this year.  I didn't think they would need to rely on the O to win games for them.  If that makes sense or clears things up.

DF2004 I would agree with you that alot of us thought the D would be the strength of the team this year ( not saying they aren't) just thought they would have played better earlier in the year.

I don't know if this carries over to college teams, but Dubuque 4A schools Hempstead and Wahlert each scored road upsets tonight in substate action. #3 seed CR Washington looked like the class of the field in a 62-14 pounding of Muscatine. Looks like I'll be headed to Dubuque on Monday, since the IHSAA won't make Hempstead travel twice in a row. Go Warriors! Go Kohawks!

Northwestern?  Please...they dropped from their schedule my beloved Rams because they we tired of the stain we put on their record for the past 2 years.  Their loss is to Simpson.  Their one "quality" win is against UW-RF by 7 pts...UW-W beat that same team 52-24.  I'd take the Cobbers, the Johnnies, the Tommies, the Gusties, the Knights (MIAC and IIAC), the Dutch, the Beavers over NW every day of the week and twice on Sunday.  Don't color me convinced about Monmouth either.

Former BV coach Joe Hadechek and his Union of La Porte City team lost last night.  The Knights go 7-3 on the season in their first year in 3A.  With last seasons 6-3 record he is now 13-6 in his 2 years at La Porte.
