Wart fans, what ever happened to the Jones kid that played RB last year. I thought he looked like he would be the guy this year after VanRees graduated. I still can't understand how few carries VanRees got last year. In my opinion, every time Suckow carried the ball when VanRees was healthy, was advantage to your opponent.

Ya, but Koelher wanted a higher grade shingle so he had to make the deal.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Floyd in Iowa City

Floyd, have some confidence.  Luther is #1 is pass defense and Wartburg relies very heavily on the pass.  Maybe they are rated so well in passing efficiency because they have not yet run into the best pass defense.  I've been talking a lot about attitude lately, if Luther goes into this with the belief that they can win, as they did against Central, they will do it.  Wartburg lost to a team that Luther beat.

Believe in yourselves, Norse.

Thanks for the support!  I wish I was playing Saturday, but the Norse does not need some mid-30s aged guy who was more quick than fast back when he was at Luther.  It was always fun to play against schools like Loras and Wartburg just as a NE Iowa kid who knew people that went to those schools.  It was also fun to hear the coaches talk about games from the past.

I was just trying to give an honest view of who should be favored and why.

This is still a big game for those of us associated with the college in Decorah even though Luther lost to Coe last week.

Yes Floyd, and maybe covering their tight end deep down the middle of the field will help also.

Ah, you remember that as well!  The Knight TE, the punt snap, and a couple of bad Norse passes to kill drives without any pressure are my bad memories of the game last year.  I am sure there was a poor punt return moment in there as well. :(

The Wartburg TE CORRECTION: IS was a good player.  Those other things had a lot more to do with why Luther was a 5-5 team.  Not making adjustments for the TE might also be why Luther was 5-5.

That young man (Hoerner) is still out there and very dangerous.  Account for him or you will likely be burnt again.  Perhaps the Kanigget emphasis on passing to the outside WR's cuts down on his catches...but he's there and is no less a player than last year.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Well this year who should be favored and why can fly out the window for nearly any game.  Trust me, we've learned that the hard way.  It is easy to be supportive since a Norse win would help the Dutch, providing they take care of their own business.  Plus, it makes our loss to you look better.  I'm also all in favor of one of the underdog teams winning the crown if it can't be us.  Since Klop didn't believe me when I said it before, I'm perfectly content to switch my back up fickle allegience from BV to Luther.   :D

Thunderbolt

Oh, I bet he will be a Norse fan Saturday. I trust you will be making the trip oldNorse.

The Show

Yikes!  No Norse here.  Maybe he misunderstood my post when I said I would NOT be selling my BV gear!  My brother-in-law's brother is on the O-Line for the Norse, that's as close as I get.  I could root for Luther I suppose and then hope Luther stumbles the following week.  Should give a little cushion to the Beavers' lead!

You hope we stumble against Cornell? >:( I take back anything good I thought about you!

The Show

Somebody has to be their first win  ;)  and it better not be the Beavers in the last week of conference play!

Or if makes you feel better, Luther can win out, as long as BV does the same.

Ah, Swope Hall, home to many a late night rendezvous for BV linemen.  At 2 a.m. on Sunday, that place is a fat man's Shangri-La: a dorm full of girls with low self-esteem and lots of snack food.
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

That's the funniest thing I've read in a very long time.
