BTW, shouldn't we put out a missing person report on ShowMe?

He's probably in hiding writing his 1000 word manifesto on why beating BV will mean that 2008 was a successful season for the Rams, with that win they could "do some damage" in the playoffs and 2009 will be that start of Cornell's run of DOMINATION.

He's also looking for crow recipes. :D

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Quick Spanish Test for the Iowan:   ;D

Phonetically, write the following as it is pronounced, in Spanish and in Iowan

Example: Buena  Spanish; Bweh-na   Iowan; Beyoona

#1 La Jolla  La Hoya  La Joe la

#2 Chipotle  Chi-po-tlay   Chi pottle

#3 Guillermo   Gee yer mo   Guy lair mo

#4 Llover  Yover   Lover

#5 Michoacan My yo can   Mish o can

#6 Gigante  Guy yan tae   Gig ant???

#7 Jorge  Hor hey  Jorg

#8 Frijole  Free o lay   fry goal

#9 Chitzen Itza  Chee chen ee tza     Chit zen it za

#10 Flan  Flon    Flan

How'd I do? ???

Technically...you missed 5, but 2 are close enough, so -3 giving you 85%...a solid B

I'll post the answers, when more make an attempt.

Don't be bashful folks...it's for FUN!    ;)

ShowMe will need to prove to me that he is a real Ram Fan.

It isn't about the record...anybody can be a Fair Weather Fan.

You mean it won't...?   ???

Some of youse don't have our perspective.  Winning an IIAC game (or two)  this year is a stated goal for this club.  Meeting that goal even in the last game of the season would be a modicum (look it up Coe fan) of success for us.

If in doing so, we derive the perverse pleasure in denying the Beaves a league championship, all the better...though that would be tempered, I am sure, by the possibility that it restores "evil" Wartburg's claim to the IIAC crown.   ;)

As for the '09 playoffs and a run of DOMINATION...a journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step.  :)

Looking to this Saturday's game in Decorah:

We are coming off a much needed bye.  Certainly some extra time has given usopportunity to heal a bit.

I am eager to see how Cornell's offense attacks the Luther defense.  From what I have read about the Norse, I don't think we can expect too much straight-ahead.  That Wartburg was able to run effectively, may offer encouraging insight.

It looks like we will need to find a way to keep them off balance, like we were able to do against Central and Wartburg.

But as usual, it will come down to can we avoid the mistakes?  Our margin for error may be narrowing but it is still too wide.

As far as the Norse offense, I am surprised that Wartburg pitched a shutout...though the Kaniggets seem to rachet things up in the shadow of the end zone.

Psst...Psst

Hey Norse...relax.

It's only Cornell.

;)

LCNorse

Don't know if they are relaxed, Cornell always plays us to real close games. In the four years that I was there I only remember one relaxed fourth quarter. Although, the Norse offense plays much better at home. I'm sure Cornell will pull out something new coming off the bye week both offensively and defensively. Looking forward to a great senior day. Always an emotional time for any football program, this year's Norse class has all of my respect(not that it means much) for buying into a new and completely different program, they are responsible for all of the Norse's success this year.

DF2004 -  What are they going to do in Pella having to eat crow all year from the other Dutch settlement whose Big Red (yeah right) are doing well and nationally ranked.  Not a Central fan needless to say but I hate to have anyone from OC have bragging rights.  Man you're letting me down.

Reynolds continues to grow and I am very excited to watch him for the next 3 years.
Good thing we have Snead waiting in the wings, I hear there are lots of roofing jobs in Pella this summer.  Oh wait, it's Pella, there are lots of cobble street building jobs in Pella this summer.   ;D ;D ;D

Come on we both know that Central wouldn't ever resort to the levels of that "other Lutheran" school to the southwest of us

I agree with that.  The Dutch would never use roofing jobs.  They would use replacement window jobs instead.   ;D ;D ;D ;D
Good one, but LCNorse is right.  Central wouldn't ever resort ot the levels of that "other Lutheran" school.

Apples and Oranges.  That other school should play in the IIAC and see how they do.

Are you talking about NAIA ranked Northwestern?   ::)  I don't think anyone in Pella cares about NAIA football.

99% of the time the Pella Dutch roll the Orange City Dutch hands down.

The top tier of NAIA can not compete with the middle to top tier d3 teams.

Maybe 97-98%, it took Central OT to beat Colonel this year.

I don't disagree D3 vs NAIA but you know how "Those" Dutch in OC are, they'e the best just ask them.
