Okay folks its getting to end of the season and we should be chattering our brains out.  I am not going to start talking playoffs yet, but the Beavers still have a lot of business to take care of.

Lets start with this...If the season ended today who are you pick for the following.

COY:  Anderson:  If BV wins it he gets it hands down
POY:  McGrew:  he has turned in solid performances in big games
Biggest surprise:  BV if they win the conference
Biggest disapointment:  Cornell if they do not win a conference game.
Biggest turning Point in the season for any team:  When Cornell lost the opening two games they were on a slipperly slope.  When BV lost to Luther and came back to beat Waldorf big and Coe at their house.  Typically BV goes in the crapper after a loss.

Also vote for your favorite IIAC mascott:  Norseman:  With all the Norse blood I have running through my viens I always liked that mascott.

I agree with your COY
Agree withyour POY
Agree with your biggest suprise
Coe biggest disappointment

WH  good luck tonight. Nights like this I'm glad my kid doesn't play anymore, but then again we never made it to this time of year with high school football.

Rex...here is the Hope College mascot......I'm not saying we should copy Hope, but just about anything is an improvement over a red dino!

The Hope guy isn't bad.  I particularly like the whiskers and slightly demented look in his eye.

I think what Central should do, is get the next dog scheduled to be euthanized at the nearest animal shelter, call it Big Red, make it wear a red and white sweater and, train it to run ahead of the team when they take the field and bark every time Central makes a touchdown.  It wouldn't be as impressive, but Central's insurance carriers would prefer it to Beevo the Texas Longhorn or Ralphie the Colorado Buffalo or the LSU Tiger.

Thanks for another Enlish lesson and being a big brother to doolittle. I figured he could reply with his own argument.

BTW:  I can take it so keep dishing it out.

Klopenshmimer...crap I spelled my own name wrong!

Dear Klop, I only have sisters ;)

You get no argument from me.  I didn't feel I needed to respond to you.  I guess I will just add that a friend of mine was talking to me recently and he mentioned he was not sure if he had EVER seen Dubuque win a game.  That got me thinking that DF2K4 had probably seen most Central games over the last few years...the ones he might have missed could well have been playoff games up in Minnesota...leading to the fact he would probably have a pretty high winning percentage.  Mostly I take a light hearted approach to posting on here.  Wasn't trying to put DF2K4 up on a pedestal or make you puke in your mouth...you have my apologies and hopefully you hadn't eaten anything too gross before your mini vomit!!!

I did not figure that you would respond.  I did not want you to.  I am sure you noticed that I keep somewhat of a prickly attitude.  Thats kind of my edge and my M.O. on this board.  I kind of like to stir the pot a little bit and dish it out.  But like I told KoHawk Fan, I can take it so pour it on.
I don't mind dishing it out.  You given ;D me so much to work with K.

Just trying to help out... ;D
but apparently my efforts have been pretty fruitless.   :(
i.e. You MAY want to check on how to spell "English".
Oh yeah, and GO BEVOERS!!!   ;)

That was not my mistake.  That was a calculated move.   ;D  Yeah, right and I bet you have some swamp land near Stormy Pond you'd like to unload on someone.   ::)

I figured that might bring you out of the woodwork.

Go Beavers!!!

Not considering that Storm Lake in on the fly way and my swamp land is prime time duck hunting ground.  I might have a "classic" car that I might want to unload to someone though.

Just like to give a "shout out" to #34 Tate Harrison LB for the Kohawks:  Congrats on being named to the D3 Team of the Week!

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Junior linebacker Tate Harrison (Nevada, Iowa/Nevada) has been named to the d3football.com Team of the Week for his performance last weekend against Buena Vista. Harrison broke the school record with 22 total tackles, including 13 solos.

He also added two tackles for loss and a sack against Buena Vista. His 22 total tackles was the most of the three linebackers selected to the team. For the season, Harrison has 108 tackles, matching his total from last season with one game to go.

Regarding this mascot discussion:  I think Central should get a bunch of red haired step children for their mascots.

Congratulations to the Wartburg and Loras foosballers.  The men's and women's teams from both schools are in the IIAC soccer championship matches tomorrow.  I'm hoping for 3 Knight championships all in one day.  It might be a long shot, but that is my dream.

I listened to Coach Dillion's interview on WMT radio on my way home from work.  He didn't sound overly enthusiastic about the Rams' chances in Decorah tomorrow.  He seems to think the weather, the Norse size, the home field and Luther's running attack favors the Norse.  Maybe he was just using the "poor me" psychology and will unleash the secret weapon at high noon.  ;)

Hey warthog...I think Dillon is using the reverse phychology approach.  So does high noon mean tomorrows games are starting an hour earlier than normal???  I ask this because I told my wife I was going to the Wartburg/Dubuque game tomorrow even if I went by myself.  I don't want to show up late!!!

warthog

WMT said the Luther/Cornell game was a 12:00 kick.  The Wartburg web-site still says 1:00 for Wartburg/Dubuque.  We have lights at Wartburg, but I'm not sure whether Luther does or not.  If they don't, that could be the reason for 12:00.
