Old Norse I don't believe I was cocky. If you read my post I said Wartburg got lucky today and won in Ot.  But can't we be happy about the victory or is that just for the other team in the conference after a victory?

Wh sorry to read about your game last night. It read like that int did you guy in. I'm thinking you were a head when that happen.

Fun game in Waverly today.  I don't think the ref should have thrown the flag for excessive celebration...no more celebration on that TD than any of the others today.  That said, if UD hadn't missed a short FG earlier in the game it wouldn't have mattered.  And the home team will probably get a few calls in a game...that is the nature of things.

Congrats to Wartburg on another title.

By the way, what was the announced attendence???  I counted 20 on the UD side and 174 on the Wartburg side today.

Actually we scored on the first play of the game and never lead again.
We were down by 19 at half and came back in the second half to have 2 possessions to win it in the last 5 minutes and couldn't convert.

Lets be real for a minute.  BV's coach does not deserve the COY now.  If they would have won the conference then he would have it hands down.  Facts are and I will use a direct quote from Sportsknight, we folded like a cheap card table once again.  One thing I will say at least our fans arnt like Show ME and run our mouths and then go into seclusion.

Willis deserves this honor this year.  Coming back to coach the team weeks before camp starts and then to put them into the playoffs.  That is an outstanding job.  Say what you want about him being close to the program, but he did not recruit those kids, those were Koehlers kids.

On the terms of keeping it real, Wartburg will have their hands full in playoffs just as any team from the IIAC would this season.  There is some good teams in the WIAC and out west to deal with.

Sour grapes you say...Not the case.  I would have predicted a one and done for the Beavers.

Did not read Wartburg Fans post as cocky, but I guess people are free to think what they want.

Since the Hawks won today the sting of this weekend is less than it would have been with them losing.  My usual round of betting has gone well again so I can not complain I guess.

I am going to retire for the evening to get crap faced and hopefully ruin my first wedding anniversary.

Sincerely,

Motherhiemer

I'd like to extend my gratitude towards Central for pulling off what i guess is a "upset" if you want to call it that.

between Central winning, WB winning in OT and IA pulling some stuff out of their rear, I would definitely say the stars are aligned for me tonight.

How about Klopendick
or Drunkenheimer?

Lamar Harvey for Player of the Week
The freshman had 40 carries for 214 yards.

Klopendick might be a bit harsh, but you are from wartburg so I would expect that ;)

The Senior Class played for one year under Coach Willis, and the Juniors were brought in partially by Willis and Koahler, but i totally agree, the bomb was kind of dropped on him really late in the off season, did a great job stepping back into his coaching role, and won the conference, great day to be a Knight, and a Hawkeye for that matter

A note to those going to Walston Hoover during a cold day.  The two girls they put up on the visitors side to charge admission get cold and leave about 5 minutes before kickoff...which means free admission for those walking into the place from the visitors side ;)

Also, there are nice Wartburg students that live in the dorm beside the visitors seating that open their windows and shout updates on the Iowa game to the visitors...a nice touch I felt ;D

The Wartburg fans at the Fainting Goat were appreciative to us for telling them how the football game turned out.  They had all left at halftime.  They were very nice to us...and were all Hawkeye fans...so that was also nice.

Congrats, Wartburg, on wrapping up the title today.  Who picked BV for second in the pre-season?

And speaking of the preseason, I see that Cornell has failed to win their two games, much less challenge Central for the championship.  Things move way too quickly on this board for casual follower to keep up with, so can I ask if the king of mindless boosterism (can't remember his Cornell-supporting name, but he was a funny guy) still around?  That guy was a classic.
