Show, did you go to the B.V. game?  Any word about why B.V. struggled so bad running the ball or why the Bethel stud RB did not play?  Thanks!

I was not in attendance.  My mother said that Bethel had a large D-Line, so take that for what it's worth.  BV's O-Line is pretty inexperienced though.  I was just glad to see my bro actually managed positive yardage...  BV's defense seems pretty tough, but they're on the field way too much!

Porta had a broken hand for Bethel...not sure how long he'll be out for or when the injury occurred.

That strikes me kind of funny that with all the schools that are up there the MIAC teams have a hard time getting kickers.  Or do Minnesota high schools go for two all the time and not try kicks.

My take on the supposed lack if kicking in the miac maybe due to the conflict between the football and soccer seasons. I believe that Iowa is one of a few states to have spring boys soccer, whereas Minnesota has fall soccer. This may contribute to the lack of kickers produced in Minneosta. Athletes can't participate in both sports in minnesota so the decision between the two sports takes place at a younger age, but for Iowa athletes the choice may first arise as a decision to be a college kicker or soccer player. Just a thought, can't say the observation has validity or reliability.

So I should be working on ATN and all, but since I did so well in my IIAC picks this week (lost Simpson and Loras, but hit the others), I thought I would check in to see where I stood.

I hope someone is tallying these. I might play all year if there's something to play for.

While I'm awake, I may as well post why...

Olivia Kay Rowedder was born Sunday, Sept. 3rd at 7:31pm.  She was 17 days early, but still weighed in at 8 lbs 5 1/2 oz. and 21 inches long.

Weather permitting, she should be able to make an appearance at the BV Homecoming this year.

Congratulations Show!
Confused and I were just talking yesterday about how we don't see our babies right now because they are in bed when we get home from football practice. Something tells me by your posting time that you may not have that problem this season.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Oldbeake -- Free Beer in the Endzone, Go Team Go! :) Have you talked to any of your Beake buddies recently?
:D  I've been talking to quite a few recently, actually.  We're in the beginning stages of planning a visit for a game in Pella next season.  The Beakes turn 60 next year...so we could have a pretty solid cheering section (and quite a few signatures on our petition to re-name Kuyper as Kroloff Stadium, of course, too ;))

Ice cold beer...makes you wanna cheer.

Congrats, Show...to be honest...I was expecting her measurements to be more along the lines of 6'6" - 260, though. ;)

Congrats to you Show.  Parenthood is always a great feeling.

Thanks all.  It's pretty amazing.

These naps are reminding me of the college days!

oldbeake - I'll wait for a son to be 6'6" - 260 and he can suit up for the Hawks.  I'll take 6'0" and hopefully a jump shot! ;D

The Central web site says Schuring was hurt last Saturday.  Anyone know how bad?

I got a press release yesterday that list him as a probable starter for Saturday.  So I don't know how bad he is hurt.

Dutchfan2004,
Congratulations on post #200.
It all changes now.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

DutchFan2004

Thanks,

How do you mean it all changes.  Is it like turning 40 or 50.  Is it down hill now.  If i knew that I would have stopped posting.  LOL

Show - congrats!

I hope you're getting to spend some quality time with the new little one and not running yourself too ragged.  It shouldn't take you too long to figure out who this is...an older beaver who had your back in a 24 ice or fourty...and that was in a half.

I'm new to the postpattern game - hopefully welcomed with open arms as a guy who knows maybe a little, or at least can offer a little insight.  As for BV, didn't make it up north on Saturday but had a good picture painted by SL's commentator from the local station making the trip up- if anybody has had the pleasure of listening to him he does one of the better jobs I've heard in a while.  Judging by the boxscores and commentary, BV just kept fighting to start something but kept getting snuffed out.  It sounded much like The Show put it, the defense looked tough and put up a great fight, but when you're on the field that long it takes its toll.  The offense had it's moments, but they need to put the moments together consistently - Hawkins is one of the best QB's I've seen in a while, so I hope to see some big things from him and the Beaver O.  I look for them to put their nose to the grindstone and utilize the off-week as a time to get back on top of the dam and defend against the dutch.

Good luck to the rest of the conference this week....

DutchFan2004

Welcome Joey

All are welcome.  Look forward to your posts.

K-Mack I will keep track of them.  You and Sportsknight are in the lead by one.  Then there is another way to look at it.  You are only 2 out of last place.  LOL.

I just wanted to say congratulations to Cornell's Nate Newmeister on being Iowa Conference player of the week.  I must say that even though the toughness of the team Cornell played saturday is unknown, Cornell looked damn good.  Not too bad for the conference's "bottom feeders".  Good luck to the rest of the conference this satuday.
