I have no direct knowledge but I would guess those three fields will stay grass for sometime to come. BV and Luther becase of their proxsimity to water, and Cornell for lack of loosening the purse strings. Unless some rich BV grad comes forward, Klop!

I don't think it will be Klop,  He still owes us these wonderful hot dogs for the board.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I fixed it for you.  BV has wanted to do field turf for quite some time.  Their practice facility is out north of town and they have to bus the players to practice every day.  If they had field turf then they could practice on campus more.

What does Warren County and the state of Arkansas have in common?

They both pumpKIN on Halloween :o

doolittle cost you all your hot dogs.  He said that if BV beat UD then I was in the clear but if UD beat BV then I owed everyone two hotdogs and a beer.  You can thank Sparty for your lack of dietary enjoyment ;D

Indianola Joke Of The Day
A Methodist minister and a Reformed Church minister walk into a sleazy Indianola gin mill.  The bartender says, "We don't get many clergymen in here.  What can I do for ya?"
The Reformed Church minister says, "We'll just have a couple of lemonades please.  We only came in here because next week we want to preach about what hell is like and we thought this is as close as we could get."

I wasn't hungry until I started reading all this.  Is it too early in the morning to go get a cheese dog???

5 words, what is every teams record on grass over the same period of time???  What are teams won-loss records at home vs. away???  No way am I looking all that up.

Here is another thing I have been thinking about.

Central home attendance this year is

1,500
3,000
1,500
1,000

But we also see that the Central fan base will fill up the visiting side seating at most schools to over flowing.  So you get between 500-800 Central fans at some away games.

Does Central have one of the smaller overall fan bases but the most committed to following their team across the state???  I'm not sure what to make of these numbers...especially after seeing Wartburg with an announced 3,000 for their Dubuque game when there was actually about 300 there ;D

Didn't Cornell announce that they'll be putting in FieldTurf when they renovate Ash Park next year?

I didn't realize BV was busing to practice. Thats got to be a pain. Or that there were concrete plans for Cornells long over due renovation. It's probably a good thing I don't guess for a living.

You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Thunderbolt

Of the games I attended, the attendence for Luther at Simpson looks the most suspect. If they counted the players as they come on and off the field three times, maybe 1500.

2nd Simpson Joke Of The Day
Question:  What is the difference between an Indianola saloon and a simultaneous fart by the seven Simpson offensive linemen?
Answer:  One is a barroom, the other is a BARRROOOM.

Separate of the jokes, I hear from a reliable source there is a better than good chance that Cornell will be installing an artificial turf surface this Spring.

While I like the grass at Ash Park, as it has a certain charm, I think artificial turf is a good move.

One thing I always get a kick out of driving into Indianola is you can tell you are south of I80 by all the convenience stores in town advertising their chew specials out front. Must be a pretty big deal down there.
Kind of a running joke between me and some buddies that they have chew specials at the concession stand at Buxton Stadium.

The only time I would believe the attendance numbers would be during the playoffs; where everybody has to buy a ticket to get in (at least I think this is the case during the playoffs).  Otherwise, so many former athletes/students/faculty/etc. get in for free w/ a pass, it just an estimating game.  Maybe some schools try to keep the numbers accurate and other not so much.

Maybe the next poll question coud be...Are Wartburgers unable to count or untrustworthy?  ;D ;D ;D
