congratulation to cornell on the big win.

the norse are behind 14-13 at the half, both teams are moving the ball with out problems. Turnovers are the key at the moment, as luther turned the ball over inside the 20 when they had the lead 10-7, which lead to score.  Luther kicked a field goal as time expired in the first half to make the score 14-13. The key to the rest of the game will which ever defense can repsond and make plays.

That was an interesting curve the Rams threw late, putting in a different QB during Alma's attempted goal-line stand. (How often do you hear of an offside call that late in the game??)
No matter what the result, it's too bad they all can't be that close. (Alma's expected to be in the thick of the hunt in its' conference. If the Rams' offense stays that good all season, Cornell will be a team to be reckoned with.) ;)

Central defeats Hope 24-13.  They played a strong 2nd half after being down 13-3 at halftime.

Floppy - My man.  Good to hear from you, buddy.  Your Rams get this week's "Testicular Fortitude" award.  Damn!!  Way to be, Cornell.

Props also to Central for a solid win over another Michigan team...props to Coe for a beatdown vs. Aurora.

Conference gets underway next week.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

IIAC goes 3-0 vs. the Michigan Conference today!!

WLCALUM83

WLC appears to be the weakest of the 3 Michigan teams the IIAC teams defeated today--on paper. Hope figures to finish in the middle of the pack and Alma near the top spot. Again, profs to Cornell.

Congrats to Cornell.  Way to go Rams.  You deserve alot of credit.

Central started very slow.  The game was a tale of two halves.  13-3 with Hope winning the first half (really the first quarter).  Then the Dutch scored 21 unanswered points.  Schuring sits out all game as well as Doud and Haugen.  Dutch fought hard without three starters in the game.

Myself, K-Mack, Dbljay21, DaOne, Norsefan go 5-2.

Lorbec47 goes 4-3

Pretty good week for the IIAC I would say.  Cornell comes up big for the IIAC.

Pat still being pretty new to D3 football.  How does playing outside your region affect a team.  I see a few games like this around the country.  More this year than last from what I can tell.

Long time reader, first time writer here. Great day for IIAC football! Way to go to all the teams that won, next week will be mighty interesting.

I had a queston for ya'll - has anyone else heard rumors that Grinnell might want a piece of the IIAC action? I've heard that they are interested in joining the conference in two years after all of their new buildings are completed.

DutchFan2004

Thats the first I have heard of it.  I don't think that Grinnell matches up with the IIAC in football very well.  From what I see they don't do well with the conference they play in now.  Maybe they feel that if they do join the IIAC they can recruit Iowa kids better.  Just a thought.

Yes Yes!!! Huge win this weekend.  That win just goes to show the changes that have taken place in Mt. Vernon.  Different atmosphere, different attitude, different program.  Hell of a win guys, hell of a win!

Coe's win streak may be in danger now that we have a compitant coaching staff that cares about football and winning.

Puhlease! While Cornell has good reason for optimism and deserves credit for its 2-0 start, the Coe-Cornell game is the last of the season. By then, the Rams could have Ulysses III and other dirty farm animals playing in place of an injury depleted roster that wasn't all that long to begin with. In other words, too much football to be played between now and then to start speculating.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi
