I would like to say congrats to UWSP for a great season, they just ran into a knight team that probably played their best game of the year.

                              WAY TO GO KNIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to Wartburg on a great game...I was having trouble listening/watching the UWW/SJU game, so I listened to this one. With all their miracle, one point finishes this year going in their favor, Point was primed for a loss, and you hung one on them.  Good luck at Monmouth!

Can't wait for WH and SK to get back and post their thoughts on the game.

I wonder if Walston and his crew will end up at this place... http://www.pointbeer.com/brewery.php

I would recommend the Horizon Wheat or Oktoberfest.
FYI:  HyVee Wine and Spirits carries a variety of Point products just in case the trip to the land of cheese is out of your way.

Congrats to the IIAC on the Wart win.

Question:  can't Wartburg audio stream or video stream on something other than the local FM station? Or make its quick stats work?

I missed the game except for the updates on DIII.  Thanks for you guys who did report periodically.

Now Decorah takes on Sioux City Heelan......tough game.

Having seen Loras play both Monmouth and Wartburg, I would definitely put W'burg as the favorite next Saturday.  Although Monmouth was the 1st game of the season, I don't think they have enough speed to beat the Knights.  They are big upfront, though!!!

I'd like to be the first to congratulate my knights on their HUGE Win today on the road.  26-21

They gave up some yards on D(just like all year)  but they made plays when they needed to.
Forced 3 turnovers  and partially blocked a punt.

yordi had a great game and so did his 2 WR's - actually there were a lot of guys who played well, too many too mention

too bad the #8 seed didn't win like I needed to, was hoping to see them next week @ Walston

Ditto on the congrats to the Knights.  Nice job.
Congrats, also to NAIA Morningside.  They took care of Baker (KS) in their first round game today in Sioux City 65-27.   Looks like they may get another home game next week against possibly Lindenwood (Mo.)
Also the season ends for St. Ambrose today-USF beats them in Sioux Falls 28-zip.  USF's defense allowed just 9 yards rushing and 139 total yards while the Cougars put up 312 yards.

No word on who the Cougars' next victim will be...
In the words of Bobby Knight: "I mean, I deeply hope we beat their ass today."

Congrats Knights, way to do the IIAC proud.  Maybe we have all under estimated the strength of the IIAC this year.  That was a darn good UWSP team they just beat.

Congrats, Knights!! Way to represent! It's tough to play with and beat any team in WI -- especially on their turf!

-Wartburg fan for another week  ;)

In case anyone is interested I also spotted the oft-mentioned Sierra Nevada brand in the WDM Target.  On my next stop I'm saving space in the alcohol budget to try a 12 package.

Finally found some stats from todays contest on the UWSP site :

  http://athletics.uwsp.edu/sports/football/2008/STP11.HTM

Congrats to WB defense, held them to 144 yds passing, 90 below their average, gave up 212 on the ground but took away their strength.  Looks like WB copied a little Dutch strategy and got out gained offensively  in the win :)  Pointers lost a couple fumbles so Warty was +2 in takeaways.  Congrats to Yordi on a good game, and good luck next week.  I'll probably pick Wartburg for one more week, but don't know much about the kilt wearers yet.

BTW:  Wegher form Heelan looks like the real deal vs Decorah today.  Will he compete with Jewell for the Hawkeye RB spot next year?

Big bonus on the day, IIAC outlast the MIAC in the playoffs and the Hawks are starting to get it on over Goldie da' Gopher 20-0.

Congratulations to Wartburg!   Great outcome and great game.  Always good to beat a WIAC team and outlast the MIAC conference to bolster the IIAC reputation.

SK, I take back what I said about the Dubuque game, I didn't think about the weather on the day they played.  No doubt it was a big factor, given the strength of the Knights O was the passing for most of the year.  Sounds like you found the running game at the right time.  Of course, anytime after Central is a good time as far as I'm concerned.   :D

Heard some bad news today that the Dutch may have a key player defecting to BV next year.  The least they could have done was give the kid a good roofing job.   ;)
