I tailgated with WH, and I agree with what he was saying, the security officers were trying to rain on our parades, while the Scottish fans could have open beer cans in the tennis court parking lot. Also, I stood the whole game on the outter fence under the scoreboard, it wasnt a bad spot to watch teh game, but i would have much rather sat with a bunch of wartburg people. The campus was nice, the people were nice, but also, to get from our stands to the consession stand, you had to hop skip and jump over a set of stone steps and walk up at 30 degree slope of grass.

Monmouth had a great year, there is no doubt about it, it was a competitive game, but there is no way the MWC ever compares with the IIAC, and the only common oponent we had was st. norbert, which we beat by 24, and the scots beat by 9,

WH you are not an idiot :P

A few responses to various posts:

Great game and it was well-played by both teams.

I'd rather be the winner than the "better team."  Any day.

We were well-hosted by Monmouth, and  I came away very impressed.  Fine college and
people and beautiful campus.   Thanks, Monmouth, if anyone's still listening.

Walston, you might be the most delusional person I have ever met/read/talked to. What does undefeated in conference have anything to do with ANYTHING? You won your conference, we won ours. We beat you if I am the coach the last 1:42. Your posts make everyone around you dumber, but go ahead and dream inside your little bubble and may God have mercy on your soul.

You Monmouth guys need to go back to your MWC board before you make me defend Walston Hoover.

You guys are nuts!

I know you have almost no one to talk to over there, but you guys are making yourselves look foolish in here.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Wartburg Fan

To anyone that was at the game in Monmouth. The Wartburg radio guys made a comment that they thought when the Scots stop the knights on 4th down in the 4th Q. right before the last series of the Scots, that their defense acted like the game was over. Does anyone out there feel the same? I hope this make sense.

AENeumann Jr

On that last drive of the knights, I didnt feel like their defense gave up, they were pressuring yordi, he had to scamper 15 yards, leave the pocket (and pass past the line of scrimmage), I dont know what the 3 Dbacks were doing on the last play, didnt jam vetter at the line, didnt communicate, then neither Scot made a play on the ball, but i dont think they quit by any means, both teams fought til the end

I apologize that the MWC schools don't all have Domed Stadiums and valet parking as the IIAC schools apparently do, but next year why not go undefeated and you won't have to worry about the inconveniences of going on the road.

Is anything I said inaccurate? ANd my post was in reference to the first one quoted here. I didn't just bring that up out of the blue. If that makes me delusional, then I would like your definition of the word. On second thought, I don't want it. Go back to your 2 other buddies posting on the MWC board.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

OMG - A couple of you have outed yourselves as major d-bags.  I'd hate to read how bad your trip was if you had lost the game.  But I guess that can wait one more week.  What a bunch of phonies....
HEY PAL, DON'T BLOCK THE SHOT!

Dutchfan2004 and maybe some others-
Made it out of the "Thanksgiving" football game today with 1 less fingernail, a bruised jaw, and apparently got some rib cartilage separated...And I'm not the one that got the worst of it. The best part was we were laughing the whole time and the pecan pie was still warm when we came inside.
My team lost though. If we didn't make the rules that my wife only had to touch us to get us down, we probably would have won.
Signed,
a major d-bag.
You Monmouth fans are a little thin-skinned. Everyone else around here is used to reading exactly what I think about things. If you don't like it, leave.

You can't call Walston that, only we can call him a douche bag.

Outed by the whole MWC board?

Hey Walston, you've been outed by seven dudes spread out over three states.

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

They would not let me drink an open beer over there. I was drinking from a plastic cup before I was threatened with removal to campus.

There is no way I am saying the MWC can compete with the IIAC from top to bottem. If anyone argues that then they are very biased. However, Monmouth beat who was on their schedule and should have beaten Wartburg if not for a horrific error in coaching judgement. I just think it is very ironic that you bash the MWC and praise the IIAC even though the Scots proved that they are right there in talent. I think that is where you are becoming delusional.

I dont think the Scots defense quit at all. I think AENeumann hit it pretty close with his post.

However, us 7 guys spread over 3 states will go back to our board and let you 10 guys from 1 state have your lovefest over here.

Make that 4 states ... from California to Michigan.

Your statement about MC should have won if not for some decisions by the coaches.  I think your premise that MC should have won is false as those decisions you talk about are a part of the game and cost them the game.  So you can not say that they should have won.  You can say that if the coaches had made better decisions they might have won.  The bottom line is that Wartburg won.  I know it hurts to hear that and you are not happy about it but that is the bottom line.

The comments came from the MC supporters that started all of this.  I replied that if you didn't want visitor's in your stands they should build more on the visitor's side.  Was that an incorrect statement?  I did not impune MC by that statement in any way.  I have never been there I have no idea what the facilities look like.  I have said that to Coe's faithful as well.  The other option is for the MC backers to come out in numbers and fill their stands so that the visitors can not sit there.  That would be a nice problem to have if they did that.

I suppose you could argue that for a true home field advantage you SHOULD hassle the away fans and team.  Make them dump all their alcohol during tailgating, have 1 bleacher that seats about 50, 1 porta john 100 yards out in the middle of a parking lot, make the visiting team change in a tent with no showers, have multiple trains pass by that blow their horns...you know, that kind of stuff.

Though you do want the visitors to spend plenty of money after the game at local establishments eating and drinking!!! ;)

Don't let Walston Hoover or the other knights get under your skin.  We put up with them in the Iowa Conference.  When they loose its always the refs fault or something.

Knights let show some class, (like Central does) you are representing us now.

I still think it was one of the best games I've watched.

Hard to say it again - good like to the knights next week.

Oh it doesnt hurt for me to hear that at all. If the coaches would have made better decisions than Monmouth would have had a ridiculously higher chance of winning the game than they did after the playcalling debacle. Wartburg would have had to go over 80 yards in less than a minute. That blunder is Finkle-worthy.

That thing about sitting on the visitors side was definitely not started by me. I could care less where anyone sits personally. Like I said, most of the Wartburg people I ran into were very respectful and nice. I did not wait around to talk to anyone after the game because I was afraid I could not control my anger.
