Supianoski also starts.  He's a very good player.

SK or WH and any Wartburg fan who was the ex-Wartburg player that was on UWW team last year, I can't remember his name but know where he went to HS.

Walston Hoover

Moore from Ballard Huxley. I showed him around on his recruiting visit. He had to be pushing 30 last year playing for them. Not quite sure how he ended up there, but I'm pretty sure it was not a direct route from Wartburg to Whitewater.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Purple Heys

Game storylines:

Can Wartburg slow the UW-W running attack; can Wartburg run on the Warhawks or will they even try if Boom and Hervey are slowed...

Will UW-W outside DB's bottle up the Wartburg receivers, will UW-W copme out throwing to catch Wartburg off guard...

Should UW-W jump out to an early 2 TD lead, can Wartburg even hope to come back; If Wartburg jumps out to a quick lead, can they hold it...

Will Wartburg's deceptive team speed pose any kind of issue for UW-W...

Does UW-W count an easy victory and get caught by surprise; or does Wartburg come out flat and pack it in happy to have made it this far...

Thanks, I just couldn't remember his name. But I do think he did go right to Whitewater after leaving Wartburg.

Walston Hoover

Game story lines-
Willis was a finalist last year for the UWWw job last year when he was the AD.
Moore, the former Knight who won a ring last year with UWWw
Pat Toohey, Wburg DL coach and class of '04 was a GA for a couple runner up teams at UWWw.

Will UW-W outside DB's bottle up the Wartburg receivers, will UW-W copme out throwing to catch Wartburg off guard... No, I think they will try and pound it.

Should UW-W jump out to an early 2 TD lead, can Wartburg even hope to come back; If Wartburg jumps out to a quick lead, can they hold it... Good question

Will Wartburg's deceptive team speed pose any kind of issue for UW-W... I think they will be surpise by the team speed.

Does UW-W count an easy victory and get caught by surprise; or does Wartburg come out flat and pack it in happy to have made it this far... Yes; No

Time for some more "Wartburg Playoff Opponent Trivia!"

Five free karma points to the first IIAC poster (you Wisconsin cheese-dicks don't count) who can correctly answer this question:

Which two members of the cast of the movie "Animal House" called Whitewater home at one time or another?
John Belushi, er, um, Bluto!

Tom Hulce? He was "Pinto" in the movie.

I love that movie. :)

Belushi's Whitewater connection is pretty well known, but I think only a few know that Tom Hulce was born in Whitewater - well done!

I have a mulit-layered  Whitewater trivia question for any IIAC poster...+K for any right answer - if one poster can answer all them, +K for a week!

* Who is the noted and often criticized university professor, historian, and author/presidential biographer who grew up in Whitewater and graduated from Whitewater HS?

* What is he/she known for (the good, the bad, the ugly - there are many)?

* What is his/her connection to UWW?

I'll be back later to check on your progress...   ;)

Stephen Ambrose, biographer of Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon and author of Band of Brothers, on which the award-winning miniseries was based.

Some of the good listed above, but he was also the military advisor for the movie "Saving Private Ryan."  Bad would be that he plagarized some of the content of his book The Wild Blue.  He's also been accused of not completely researching some of his later works.

Other than being a Whitewater native?  Good question.  Wasn't listed on Wikipedia.

Shoot! I just logged in to make the same guess, even though I'm not an IIAC member.

Mr. Ypsi

BoBo,

John Belushi's Whitewater connection is quite well known.  What may be less known is that he went there because he was rejected by his first choice, Illinois Wesleyan! :D

(But I confess I have no clue on your latest questions. :()

Ambrose is a stud. He just got lazy in his old age and let his committees do his research for him. Basically, they copied and pasted. His best book is Band of Brothers....a must read for everyone.

I actually enjoyed Crazy Horse and Custer more.  Less drama, but a very engaging and detailed read of American history.

If you liked Band of Brothers, then I recommend you read Currahee! by Don Burgett.  He was also in the 506 PIR of 101, but not Easy company.  Best first person read of WWII ever (and actually endorsed as such by Ambrose).  Currahee! covers Burgett's experiences of the Normandy invasion.  He's got a few other books on his time in the Airborne out as well if you enjoy that.
