I think we can hold off on worrying about answering that question until the next time UD hosts a late December game.  ;)

Well said you.

Though, I did notice when I looked at the Iowa Conference website today that UD is in 1st place, with Wartburg in 2nd place in wrestling!!!  I know, I know...the 49-0 butt whuppin is coming our way...but until then, It's nice to see UD(anyone actually) ahead of the Evil Empire in wrestling ;)

Now, I am off to take on my kids in bowling yet again.  This wii thing is addictive.

DLD:

That is a "cool" shot of the stadium.  Grandma Warthog would have been pleased had she seen all the improvements at UD over the last few years.

Taking a look at this picture... http://flickr.com/photos/nmstory/3119320832/sizes/l/in/set-72157611330902413/

Do IIAC teams need to start building Domes???  Or build fields with in-ground heating units???  Or employ work-study kids to get shovelling???

Pretty picture anyway.

Doolitttledog ... thanks for the pic.  I'm going to use it for the background on my desktop ... at least until Spring comes.

Our kids actually gave US the wii for Christmas so that we would quit asking them to bring it when they came.  So I immediately went out and bought Rock Star2 and what a blast that is.  Remember what I said about just wanting my kids to come home for Christmas and hang with us?  No problem!   :) ;) ;D  I forced myself to go to bed at 1:00am but I think it was somewhere around 4:00am the last time I heard them.

Dog: have you try the sking yet that is also alot of fun. Stay away from the exercise part thru.  :o :o :o :o

Purple Heys

We got a Wii last year.

I am a stud at tennis and the target shooting game.  The kids refuse to play me in the target shooting game.  Try using two controllers and shooting left and right handed simultaneously.  The funnest part about bowling is doing that training game where you try to knock down an increasing number of pins.

I've got the thing linked to the internet show we can actually play the networked games vs. Jr.   Super Smash Bros. for example

We bought an Xbox this year cuz the NCAA and Madden are better on that compared to the Wii.

The Wii just isn't set up as well for that type of game.

The Wii is great for the Family games and the made for Wii games.  It's funny to watch Rev. 3 knock Jr. around in boxing when he's seemingly half his size.

Went to Disneyland with the WHOLE FAMILY.   ($$$)   :o

Saw many of both Penn State and USC ballplayers roaming around.  It was interesting to compare the size of some of those boys to Jr.  (they ain't all that much bigger, if at all).

We have a friend who's son played at UCLA and the swag that the players get for a Bowl game is pretty sweet.  He played in the Las Vegas bowl and the Emerald Bowl, I believe.  He got watches, DVD players, apparel, gift bags.  I would imagine the Rose Bowl swag would be very nice.

I wonder if there was any swag for the Stagg Bowl?  Stagg swag?

Merry Christmas to all and a happy and prosperous New Year!
Did anyone else see the list of the stuff the sponsoring companies put in the bowl players' gift bags?  There's some nice stuff (under $500 total)  in each bag.  Hawkeye players are getting a Fossil watch, mini-camcorder, and a ring.  No blooming onion, tho.  ;)  Gophers and Jayhawks are getting a high def tv and some other stuff.   You can check out the rest:

The Show

Mr. Jackson making the IIAC proud today and with the wind, looks like he'll get plenty of work!

And for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the Bills just got hosed there before half...

Got a wii as well. Arms were pretty sore after spending aton of time boxing my 12 year old brother.

Also found out my parents will be taking us on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate their 30th anniversary with them. Kind of looking forward to that.

Are those the ones endorsed by freakishly tall TV reporter Eric Hanson?

He would know after breaking his hip on the ice last year.
I am amazed at how much better I can move on the ice with them. And I've already had the opportunity to test them out since Christmas day.
Someone needs to invent those for tires.

I like being in 3rd place in our bowl pick-em a lot better than I liked being in 10th place 2 days ago ;D

Of course, nationwide I'm in 134,600 place...hmm...well at least I'm in the 52nd percentile, always like to be in the top half things ;D

Now I want more UD football news.  Assistants being hired.  All-state football players telling the coaching staff they are coming to UD.  2009 schedule released.  You know, that kind of stuff!!!

what a performance by Coe's Fred Jackson yesterday!!  Due to the injury of Marshawn Lynch and the weather Jackson pretty much carried the Bills all day for 136 on 27 carries which is a 5.0 ypc!! He also had 1 catch for 0 yrds, but that catch allowed him and Lynch to lead the NFL in receptions for runningback duos!!  Congrats Freddy!

I only got to see about 5 plays of the game.  And the Bills went to Jackson on about 4 of them.  The announcers mentioned that he was doing well.  Considering with the weather, the defense knew he would be getting the ball pretty much every down.  Love to see D3 players and IIAC players in particular doing well in the NFL.
