Careful Doolittle -- some of your UD brethren have yet to demonstrate their sense of humor. We would hate to offend.

;)

If you have ever taken the myers briggs personality test, then I am a ISTJ. Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter of fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized- their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.

This describes me pretty well although I wouldn't necessarilly consider myself QUIET all of the time. But as you can see HUMOR isn't one of my best qualities. Once in awhile, just once in awhile I may be able to take a joke or make people laugh but don't hold your breath too long  ;D

Maybe we could settle this with a snow football game between the alums on here from each school  ;)

And by that I mean the alums of Coe and Wartburg...no way you are getting the 5 old Dubuque guys out of their warm houses in this kind of weather...or most any kind of weather for that matter.

Pick up games of football in the snow were the BEST growing up! I would be willing to come out and play  ;D I'd like to think I am in just as good of shape as my playing days with the exception of the joints and major ligaments. I definitely feel more soreness after work outs and find it much easier to twist a knee or ankle then when I was younger  :(

Willie U

You're not fooling anyone.  Word on the street is your young son can bust a move and score a long one past you anytime he wants :P

One can only hope.............

Just as long as he isn't busten a move on a soccer field, I'll be happy  ;D

That was an attempt at a joke but half serious (my personality coming out again). Although I hope he loves football, I will support him in whatever he decides to do EVEN if it is soccer  :'(

If you burger guys are ever in So. Cal, try In-n- Out Burgers, never frozen, always fresh.  They are the best .

Good thing my wife doesn't read this board.  If she knew the Wartburg/Dubuque game was webcast she probably wouldn't let me go to the game in Waverly this saturday.  We are looking forward to seeing the W and then hitting the Fainting Goat afterwards.

Haven't decided if I'm headed up for the games on Saturday or not.  I have a going-away party that evening and have plenty of around-the-apartment stuff to get done before that.

Is there any place we should try other than the Fainting Goat?  We have been to other OP's.  Joe's KnightHawk is also close by...that could be a possibility.  Any other places out there we might try???  AEN's house for his wifes saturday night tuna casarole?!?!

The Goat, Joe's and The OP are easily your best options, especially if you're looking for dinner and drinks.  There's the East Bremer Diner downtown, but that's more of a sit-down place, but has very good food.  Owned by the same folks that own the Broadway and Highway 63 Diners in ALO if you've been there.  I haven't been to the EBD in a couple years, so I honestly can't tell you if they serve beer.  Other restaurants include your typical Godfather's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Ranch, etc.  If no food isn't a deal-breaker or if you're just looking to grab a drink after the games, there's the Pour House, Blake's and The Wooden Foot Saloon downtown.  None of the three will have a real big crowd late-afternoon on a Saturday, since all of them are more townie bars.  But the Wooden Foot re-opened after the flood within the last 6 months and has a beautiful oak bar and an upper level w/ pool and foosball tables.

Sorry the Neumann's will be fasting before  the Super Bowl Pig Out on Sunday.  ;)

There is an authentic Mexican Restaurant (Real Mexicans) on the East end of town on #3, next to Star Motel called El Senor Tequila Mexican Restaurant. Very good. If you go AFTER the meet, grab a copy of the WC Trumpet in the Zesty Orange @ the W and there's a coiupon for  $2.00 OFF per dinner.

Since that was from dutchfan1, I think I'm being included ... since at least a couple of you seem to think I am the nit picking old fart on here.

Actually ... a wintertime IIAC alumni snow bowl might not be a bad idea.  Of course, I can say that because this time tomorrow I will be on the beach at Puerto Escondido, Mexico, drinking fresh margaritas and and soaking up the sun.

Adios.

GO SPARTANS!

Well if people think your a nit pick old fart (which could be proven), I am an egotistical prick on this board (which could be proven) ;)

Hey we all have to be something so we might as well be what we are best!!! (3 exclamation marks for doolittle)

Thanks for the advice...something tells me we will end up at the goat.

The East Bremer Diner does serve alcohol.  If you end up going there, I would strongly recommend the French onion soup, followed by steak or prime rib with hash browns (there's a reason I was a lineman).  EBD is one of my favorite eating establishments in the world.  The Goat is also excellent, but they serve more casual bar food.  Depends on whether you're more thirsty or hungry which is the best choice.
When it's 3rd and 10, you can take the milk drinkers, and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time.

Pizza on the bus after road games. 2 guys to a pie except on the way home from Dubuque where we stopped at the Knightliter

I can verify the pizza. The wife and I helped carry about 30 Domino's to the bus after the Augsberg game.

any predictions on the dvc. vs. wartburg match on sat. night? should be a good one...hopefully dvc isnt too wiped out from wrestling coe the night before and is ready to take on wartburg.

The same could be said for the Knights, who face Augsburg in Mpls the night before.

excellent did not realize that...the top 4 ranked teams all squaring off within 2 days. wish i was there to watch, any chance they are streaming it over the net?

Coe has been doing streaming video of a lot of their events this year, so I'd be surprised if they don't do Friday night's dual.  I know for a fact that Wartburg's student-run TV outfit will be streaming Saturday's Wartburg vs. DelVal dual on WartburgTV.Org  And that's after they air Wartburg's basketball double-header against Dubuque earlier in the day.  Gonna be a long one for the WTV kids.  Hopefully they have plenty of Joe's trade-out certificates to use afterwards.

They've been on the schedule all season.

http://www.coeathletics.com/f/Video_Broadcast.php

Doesn't look like they'll show the Luther-Delaware Valley match, but have both of the Coe duals on the broadcast schedule.
