I love that all of these recipes come with step by step PHOTO instructions.

Seriously, just reading about the Bacon Explosion added 10 lbs this morning! Damn. Your wives will never let you get away with that.  ;)

BTW...can't have a respectable conversation regarding SoCal Burgers unless one includes Tommy's.

If you don't see the Shack, take it back!  Everytime we drive up to LBSU to see(or return) Senorita Heys to school, there is a Tommy's on the way back in Fountain Valley.  I stop for the Double chili-cheeseburger with chili cheese fries with onions.  A true gut bomb!

But I covered this ground before...  I am an In-N-Out devotee as well.

Heys Rev. 3 has now developed his taste for the In-N-Out 4x4.

That does it!

I am going to In-N-Out tonight!

Just had a double-double animal style(includes the usual lettuce, tomato, secret sauce(thousand island) and Grilled Onions.  My wife will be smelling them all night. :D

At my age, can't do that very often but when I do, I savor every bite.

I've lived in two (soon to be 3) IIAC towns, and here are a few of my thoughts:

Waverly
Best Burger:  Have never been real impressed with the burgers at Joe's or the Goat, so I'd probably have to say The Whopper from the local BK.
Best Pizza:  The OP, with Casey's a close second
Best Beer Selection:  The Fainting Goat
Best Wings:  Joe's wings are legendary, and the rumor is that the recipe was "modelled after" Hooters' wings.  The Goat's Boneless Bites are pretty damn good too.
Best Mexican:  I've heard some pretty good things about El Senor Margarita's, and Joe's actually has some decent burritos.
Best Misc.:  No trip to Waverly is complete without some Joe's cheese fries.

Pella
Best Burger:  Really enjoyed the Hickory BBQ Burger (or whatever they call it) at The Sports Page
Best Pizza:  Can't really go wrong anywhere in town (Casey's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Ranch), but George's is probably the best
Best Beer Selection:  Dr. Salami's if its open again
Best Wings:  Can't say I ever had the wings anywhere in town
Best Mexican:  Casey's Taco Pizza?  That or Taco John's
Best Misc.:  Dutch Letters and DutchFan2004's baked beans if its a home Saturday for the Central football team

Dubuque
Best Burger:  I've always been partial to the Mining Company
Best Pizza:  Shot Tower or Town Clock Inn
Best Beer Selection:  Busted Lift, and its not really even close
Best Wings:  Hard to top Buffalo Wild Wings
Best Mexican:  ?
Best Misc.:  Mario's for anything Italian (esp. the calzones), Mullgrew's chili-dogs across the bridge in ED, Jack's Chicken, the prime rib at The Moracco, turkey and dressing sandwiches from Kalmes' in St. Donatus

Cedar Rapids

Best Burger: Starlight
Best Pizza: Zoey's (Marion)
Best Beer Selection: Bricks
Best Wings: Paddy O'Rourkes (on Wednesday night)
Best Mexican: El Mercadito
Best Misc.: Tic Toc anytime, Just Jules on Friday for their Hot Turkey sandwich, but get there early.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I've lived in two (soon to be 3) IIAC towns, and here are a few of my thoughts:

Waverly
Best Burger: Many late night stops at the BK on the south side of town coming back after working at KWAY or covering local HS football. No Applebees there when I was in school but I'm a fan.
Best Pizza:  Hands down Ziggy's Dominos. Pizza had just enough cheese to mask the cardboard taste and they would deliver until 2. Also the delivery guy sang with our karaoke machine a few times. Still have the number in my phone and that was almost 6 years ago
Best Beer Selection:  Who cares when there is 2-fer frogs at Joes
Best Wings:  Only had Joes.
Best Mexican:  Pancheros. STopped there after some client meetings for a burrito and made quite the mess in the car on the way home.
Best Misc.:  1 Philly Cheese steak, 1 philly chicken,  and mozzarella sticks with Ranch in the den after a football workout.
(Oh the days when I could eat like that and it was encouraged)
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

WHEN IN DECORAH ...

Best Burger: T'Bock's has a wide wariety of Burgers and a minimal selection to deep fried yucko stuff
Best Pizza: The "Large Regular" is a Decorah staple and is served only at Mabes.  The BV basketball team always has their pregame meal there before they start-a-woopin'.  The Wartburg football team will also likely dine there since the heir apparent kicker is the owner's son.
Best Beer Selection: Rubaiyat's for micro-brews (great steaks too), T'Bocks for good ol' Midwestern macro-brews
Best Seafood:  Dayton House, right next to the Vesterheim ... Norskies know fish
Best Ribs:  Hotel Winneshiek - bring your appetite and you wet naps
Best Vegetarian:  The Oneota Food Coop serves more that just granola on it's deli.  It's one of my favorite fast food venues since the flavors aren't found anywhere else.
Least Favorite:  Americana Grill - I can count the times that I've been there on one hand and have left disappointed every time.
