Was a ****ty Christmas gift the reason for the split?  :P

Nah, my Christmas gift was a hit.  ;D

He was kind of a schmuck in other areas. Since you guys opened the discussion, let me ask you guys a question: why is it so hard to find a fun, normal guy in Des Moines? What I'm looking for is pretty simple: intelligent enough to hold up their end of a conversation, likes sports (especially football), music, not anti-social  ;D.... doesn't sound too hard, right?

It will be hard for you to find a guy that can handle being inferior in football knowledge. And that can handle you are probably smarter then him and he won't be able to ever win an argument.  ;D

But, more then likely you just need to move from Des Moines, too many stiffs in insurance or banking- BLAH You need a more colorful, secure man that wants to play catch with the football ;)

Come on -- I don't talk sports on the first date. It's just a bad idea!  ;D (I'm convinced that guys don't like women sports fans, anyway.)

ANYWAY, to change the subject (away from my love life, that is) Doolittle, you could have warned us about your curse sooner. My brackets are completely busted, thanks to Duke and Memphis -- even SK is beating me. I don't think I will be able to pull out of last place....thank goodness we didn't have anything more serious than Monopoly money riding on this!
A pessimist is a man who feels that all women are bad. An optimist hopes so.

No need to look under rocks just yet. There is still 5 months before football starts. Plenty of time to help DF1 snare a good man.

My thanks to Doolittle too, for the curse that allowed about 2 million people to pass me last night.

Off topic...

I'm almost approaching the ranks of doolittle!  My wife asked me if I would like to join her and my daughter for Sesame Street Live coming up sometime relatively soon in Des Moines.   :o

That brings back memories! We took our kids to Smurfs on Ice when they were little, and it was painful. All that blue skating around, singing....

I don't know about Des Moines guys being d-bags, but teachers (completely unbiased here) are usually fairly normal, after you weed out those who molest the students, of course. I don't picture the DutchFan as trying to "snare" a man, just someone looking a guy to hang out with sometimes.

Who will put us on page 1700?

Random thought for the day...to help us get closer to page 1700.  Last night at the Stuffed Olive martini bar there was a napkin that read "Martinis...they're not just for breakfast anymore"  it made me chuckle anyway.

Walston Hoover...how many days until opening kickoff for the IIAC football season???  I don't trust my math ;)

Looking for my football spectating rear. Softballkid plays first spring ASA game tomorrow and starting temp will probaby be in 40's. At least the sun is supposed to shine. Somehow seems colder watching softball instead of football.

Might be hard to find the ball with all the white stuff falling on the ground right now :P  Stay warm, I'll be thinking of you while I'm sitting inside (doing laundry) tomorrow!!!
