Been a busy weekend with Prom and drying up water in the basement. Nothing says spring in Iowa like a torrential downpour.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

I felt old this weekend.  I was looking at the facebook page of a girl from my high school class and her oldest child is a junior at Wartburg (on the football team).  My oldest child is 7!!!  Of course when one starts their family at 19 while the other starts theirs at 33 you get that kind of thing.

On the bright side, this rain kept me away from doing yard work...which is a good thing ;)

I FINALLY joined Facebook this weekend -- the crappy weather kept me inside for most of the weekend -- and now I am totally addicted. Great. One more way to waste time at work!  ;D
A pessimist is a man who feels that all women are bad. An optimist hopes so.

You're in good company d-dog.  I too started my family at age 33 (almost 34).   Maybe it has to to with the self-discipline we acquired at UD.

From the Council for Aid to Education. Comes their 2008 College giving list.  I would be curious how much of this money was given during the 1st half of last year vs. the last half of 2008.  And how much of this was individual donations vs. corporate giving.

No Upper Iowa?

No Upper Iowa, Waldorf, or Billie Penn...though some of those schools have been on the list in the past.

How is Wartburg and Wartburg Theological Seminary two different schools?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

The place to be this weekend is Iowa Falls:

24 rugby teams competing in a two day tournament...

... and some beer.

Wartburg Seminary is located in Dubuque (don't ask me why) and is a post-graduate institution preparing students for ministry.  As far as I know, the only connections between Wartburg College and Wartburg Seminary are (1) shared name of the famous Wartburg Castle in Germany where Martin Luther hung out after he got into trouble with the Pope, and (2) both are related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

In contrast, the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary falls under the "umbrella" of UD and is one of several post-graduate programs UD offers.  Both the undergraduate college and the theological seminary  are related to the Presbyterian Church United State of America (PCUSA).

WTS is a seminary in Dubuque that produces Lutheran Pastors. To my knowledge, they are not affiliated at all. There may be some minor connection.
While Wartburg is somewhat connected to the ELCA, nowadays it is no longer anymore of a college of the church than any public school. I'm sure most IIAC schools can relate.

You guys are ahead of the curve.
Most UD males haven't enjoyed the company of another woman until they are almost 40.
