I know this is the football board, but I'll tell you about that Messiah pitcher.  She transferred to Messiah from Hartford (Division I) school because of an illness to her father.  I have a few friends on the Coe team and they said the rumors floating around the World Series were that she is transferring to Penn State to play next season.

Either way, what a great performance for Coe.  This will only help the Iowa Conference down the road.

One more thing, given that it's still NBA time...

I'm tee-ing up both Klop and Willie U.  This is one of those double technicals where both take cheap shots, both flail but don't connect, and no one gets an advantage, making the whole effort pointless and a waste of time...and we all feel a little bit worse having witnessed the whole thing.

And as for that illegal chop block on Brother Doolittle...

I have met him personally and met the Mrs. as well.  They are wonderful folks and having attended 2 football games ON THE SAME DAY in two different cities with both of them...It's beyond question, they are true football fans.

Double D won't let on but he's as passionate as they come about his team, UD.  He simply has the class to respect the fact that others might have equal passion about their team and won't shove it down someone else's throat.

Give me a guy (and his wife) that'll hoist one for their team and then one for yours because that's where the fun is at the D3 level.

Doolittledog and his wife are cool heads.    8)

As someone that's been known to stir the pot a little from time to time, even I'd say that things are just a scosh too contentious around here right now.  Good to keep the conversation going, but I think we can hold off on the hard-core name-calling and bickering until September arrives.
There is something about the the conversation that has been going on here lately that is giving me a powerful urge to say something evil about Simpson.

I respectfully apologize to anyone who I offended.  But, just to let you know, you sincerely offended me.

Apology accepted. I apologize for offending you as well.

On a much lighter note...I have a quick story to tell.  I was on a delightful walk with my wife, kids and dog last night when a bright license plate caught my eye in a parking lot.  "That can't be an orange Iowa license plate," I thought to myself.  I asked my wife if I was seeing things and she said, "No freakin' way, Wartburg plates."  My wife, being the great SC grad that she is, said, "We should throw rocks at it." :)

This whole conversation started off between me and daddy talking about alternatives for the second tier football players in Florida and now this is what it has blossomed into.

I almost forgot to comment on this...... Coach Z does not recruit exclusively in FL, he recruits PRIMARILLY in the midwest (SPECIFICALLY in IA, IL, WI), so although UD will still certainly get a few FL athletes for a few years I am sure. I am also sure you will be seeing a completely different look to the roster then years past so all this talk will become mute points anyway.

When you say "second tier" football players in florida because they didn't get D-1 scholarships, I suppose we were all "second tier" football players in Iowa because very few of us played for Iowa, UNI, or ISU either. I prefer to think of it as we were all "late bloomers"  ;D

BTW, we miss Jr. severely...he hasn't been back since Christmas and he won't be home for summer this year...rumors of a roofing job or something like that.   8)
Wartburg does graduate a pretty good TE. With some guys that have come in and some stellar recruits, maybe there won't be as much of a let down as I thought for this year.
There may be a FEMA job or something still in Waverly from last summer with homebuilding slowing down.

I believe the Kohawk softball team qualifies as the best Coe team in history with the highest national place ever.

Ladies, you will go down in Coe history as the very best.

Way to go!

Coo Coo For Coe Kohawk Softball!!!

I would agree that this year's softball team is the school's best team in history.  I think there are some teams in the past with better players, but this years team had the guts to go all the way.  Another reason they did so well this year is having 2 very good pitchers, and it even helped that one was a left and the other a righty; where as in the past Coe had only 1 good pitcher that pitched the majority of the games.

I love it -- the one thing Simpson and Central fans always agree on is that it's ALWAYS a good idea to throw rocks at Wartburg.  ;D

Man, I can't believe I am agreeing with a SC alum -- say your prayers because it is a sure sign the end is near.....

Luther fans/alums can now get personalized plates too.  Leave it to the Norse to always be one step behind Wartburg  ;)

I like Money Guy and Washed Up.  I think those would be great to see on the streets.  BV has their own cycling jerseys now, still no license plates tho!

The Wisky board has some good updates for UD.

Coach Z's son will be transferring in from UW-River Falls...a WR.

Supposedly a few other transfers heading to Dubuque from the WIAC and apparently a TE from a highschool in Whitewater that Zweifel was recruiting to Mankato St. when he was the OC there.

Sounds promising...if what they say on that board is true!!!  (three exclamations just for Dutchie and Klop)
