Good win for the duhawks today.
Lorbec, your brother played his ass off today

Way to go kohawks today. i've gotta say, i was pretty impressed with BV in the first quarter. They were deffinetly fired up going in to that game today. Coe can't take a whole quarter to get started next week against Loras. If the kohawks get some of their secondary issues worked out i think they'll do alright next week vs the duhawks.

Next weeks picks:

COE
CENTRAL
CORNELL
LUTHER

That means I pick my Knights to lose.  :o

Assuming the Knights play as they did today, Central will capitalize on holding penalties, too many men on the field penalties, personal fouls, fumbles, prevent defenses that don't prevent anything.

I'm sure there are people who will disagree, but I was disappointed with what I saw today.

Do I hope the Knights win Saturday?  Damn right I do!   Right now I feel if they do win it will be an upset.

Warthog beat me to the punch. I'll take the home teams too.

Coe!

4 IIAC football championships

13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

What a nice day for football.  Too bad more kohawk fans didn't take advantage of the weather and come to the game.  I thought the crowd was pretty sparce, I hope to see a lot more kohawk fans at homecoming next week.  I thought B.V. represented themselves well, especially considering the distance.

Kohawk fans need to know that this is a great Kohawk team.

I thought the radio guys did an excellent job!  The color commentator had a wealth of knowledge about not only the kohawks, but the entire Iowa conference.  I wonder where he gets so much information.  Could it be D3.com.

Looking forward to homecoming next week.  I hope the weather gets better than the forecast looks now.

Great win Kohawks!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Dutchfan--

How could you forget about me? I was 4-0 this week also. (Don't worry about it, it's no big deal.)

Boogie--I have no idea who you are, but I'm sure my bro would appreciate someone thinking that. Thanks.

Congrats to the Knights.  From the little I could catch of the webcast it sounded like their D was pretty jacked up.  To bad the Norse couldn't produce in the redzone.  Would have been fun to be there.

Lorbec47,

Sorry I missed your second weeks picks.  I went back and added.  Thats why I put that under there to check and see if i missed any one.  Hopefully I didn't miss anyone else.

Dutchfan--

I was about to call you out and say that I should be 8-0 in conference and then I went back and looked. I totally thought Wartburg would take Luther but I did type Luther takes wartburg. So here I sit 7-1, STUPID!!!

Word of warning: UD's offense is TOUGH!! They will give anyone fits, I'm still kind of amazed Loras won. If UD doesn't turn the ball over 5 times and drop SEVERAL balls, they win easy. However, they did do those things and when Loras was up 23-13, a holding penalty wiped out another Loras penalty. A rather strange game all the way around. And what the heck was up with the officiating? They had absolutely no control of the game.

Brautigum (spell?) was on the numbers at least 1/2 the game arguing. I also thought there was going to be a riot after the game, when guys in the line shaking hands were pushing and shoving. It was too bad a hard-fought game couldn't be recognized by good sportsmanship in the end. Great effort by both teams.

Lorbec47,

The Luther game was not an impossible pick.  I just thought that being at home the Knights would be to tuff.  I agree with you about Dubuque, they gave us fits last year.  They have some very talented players.

Not only did I have a perfect week, but I believe every favorite I had covered the point spread as well.
Warthog, I might have to disagree with you a little, but let me sleep on it and I'll post my thoughts tomorrow.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Nice to see the KoHawks gettin' off to another fast start this year!  Next weeks game will be a tough one against Loras!  They always bring a stingy 'D'!  I heard Loras LB Brock Hall sufferred a knee injury that might sideline him for a few weeks!  Hate to see something like that happen as he is the obvious leader of that team.  CAn anyone confirm this one way or another???

As for the game goes, definitely looking forward to this one, Loras is always a well coached team and play with sportsmanship which is what its all about!  Good luck to all!  Should be a fun one!

dbljay21

Congrats to the victors this weekend.  Sounds like Coe had another good performance this weekend and Simpson got on track a little bit.  UD vs. Loras sounded like another intense rivalry game.  UD is talented on offense but its hard for any team to overcome 5 turnovers.

And congrats to the Knights...sounded like the defense came to play and the offense took advantage of an interception that gave them a short field.  From looking at the stats, I noticed four things that  really hurt the Norse.  1.) 3rd down efficiency 2-11 on Saturday...doesn't get it done.  2.) Time of Possession...the Knights held the ball for almost 10 more minutes than the Norse.  That will wear down any defense.  3.) Turnovers  The Norse only had one on Saturday but it gave the Knights a short field and they took advantage like good teams do.  4.) Redzone scoring...1-3 with two missed field goals.  When you get in the redzone you have to get points.

Go Norse!!!
