Just thought I'd drop by from the SCIAC board to say "hello" as I am about to have my last day of canoeing, floating, swimming, motoring, inner tubing, wakeboarding, generally playing and staying on the Maquoketa River (Lake Delhi, aka Hartwick) with boy, spouse and gaggles of cousins and tons of fireflies . . . not a sight we see in CA . . . reliving the summer vacations of my youth in the 60s and early 70s . . . I love Iowa . . . and the corn . . . sublime.

At any rate, have a great season fellas.

Glad to see you had a good time visiting our state.  Not often a Californian travels to Iowa for vacation :o

Maybe next time you will even get to see some football!!!

Sure enough, the folks in Dyersville now know I'm a wino.

It's Dubuque County.  Being a drunk is a relative term.

Nicely done  ;)

My wife was a bit shocked the first time I took her to a reunion in Dubuque.  Being a drunk is definately a relative term in Dubuque County!!!

I am hopefull that this fall, the UD Spartans can come out of the gate about as well as the semi-pro Dubuque Bruisers...4-0 right now with a whole bunch of former Spartans on their roster.

I think I'll be taking in my first Bruisers game of the year tomorrow.  This summer's been crazy busy for me - this weekend is the first one where I don't have something going on since June 13 and until Aug. 22 - so I figure now's as good a time as any.  Plus tomorrow night is the championship of the Cascade Semi-Pro baseball tournament, an event I attended every year from about 4th grade through my first couple years of college, but haven't been back for in 5-6 years.

Kohawk Remedy

speaking of jersey news...I just found out that Coe will be getting new home jerseys for the upcoming year.  They'll still be crimson, but with vegas gold stripes on the side.  Picture looked pretty nice!

Back from enemy territory.
Central runs a nice camp. Very organized, letting the HS coaches do what they want, but staying very interactive with everything going on.  It helps when you have several guys on your team that they want as well. We were fortunate to have a handful of guys attract quite a bit of attention.
We're sitting about right where we thought we'd be. DIdn't have 14 players with the great baseball season we are having right now and were able to start working on some depth and guys that otherwise wouldn't have, got quality reps.
All-in-all, a fun camp. Great weather, and I think a great recruiting tool for Central
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Also pretty sure Naylor is headed to Wartburg.
Sciezinski is going to UN-Omaha, but is not actually at the Shrine bowl this week.

For Hatfield not to be getting paid to play anywhere is a travesty. By far the best DL we faced all season.
