Wartburg fans:  If you missed the chance to buy a personalized replica jersey, you can now purchase a personalized "throwback" jersey.  Orange.  http://www.go-knights.net/FBreplicathrowback.pdf

I just ordered one with Rausch, Wheeler and Walston's name on them.

I still can't believe I didn't keep/borrow/take my helmet when I was done.
I had some nice paint streaks on that baby.

speaking of Shrine Bowl, who won? That brings back some good memories.
The North used to Own the South in that game.

I played with guys named Vanden Bosch, Rausch, JJ Moses, Tim Dodge, just to name a few.
I think we had something like 15  D-1 Scholarship players between both squads that year.

crazy amount of talent

Walston Hoover

Matt Stockdale probably in the crew?

I see Upper Iowa is excited to have picked up a Wartburg transfer to compete for the Peacock wrestling program.  197 pounder N. Shandri has decided to become a Peacock.  Apparently he represented the Knights at the NCAAs this season but failed to place.  I don't know what the reason behind the move was, but I wish him the best.  I assume Coach Miller has a quality wrestler or two who can compete at 197 for this upcoming season.

You should have waited until Sunday and worn it to church.  God listens closer to people wearing red and white.

If you want some variety from football; you love IIAC sports; and want to some great athletes perform, check out Loras , Wartburg or Central soccer games sometime. I think you would enjoy it.

Mrs Doolittle and I just got back from our summer Dubuque trip.  It turns out there will now be 3 children of friends of mine that will be attending UD this fall.  All very excited to be there.  That would not have necessarily been the truth 15 years or so ago.  Definately a lot more pride for our school among the alumni.  For the first time in years the talk of our reunion was getting everybody together for homecoming this fall.  The reason our summer reunion started in the first place was because so many people didn't really want to come back for a football game.  Times have definately changed for the better.

d3fan1...Loras, Wartburg and Central all have good soccer programs.  The other schools in the conference have good teams as well.  Certainly worth a look see for those on here unfamilier with the sport.  I was surprised at how high a level the game is played at both the high school and IIAC level in our area.  A big change from when I moved up to Iowa from St. Louis 20 odd years ago!!!

From the IIAC Soccer Board...

Kickin, I am diapointed in both sites up to this point. One is full of spam, and the other seems to have little interest in soccer. Maybe that will change as the season gets closer.

I'd rather hear about COE football than talk about soccer.    :D

Actually Central football would be my preference.  ;)

Loras and Wartburg are head and shoulders above the rest of the IIAC, but I'd put Luther in as the (distant) 3rd best program, not Central.
