Does the PH/Speed84 Colonel banter remind anyone of the CooCoo/CharlieKo back/forth a few years ago?

Very entertaining.....

I don't know what you are talking about, and I wish you would shut up.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

KCRG-TV (employer of SportsKnight and myself, although we didn't have anything to do with this story)Coe Preview Story: http://www.kcrg.com/sports/53515947.html

Might just be the difference between suiting up for media day and suiting up for a game, but it looks to me like Coe added some gold shoulder stripes to their home jerseys.

There is also a gold stripe down the each side.  They look pretty sharp.  I'm doubting we see the crimson/crimson look anymore...

Good!  Those were Awful with a capital A.

OK CooCoo, I'll let you do the typing.  IMO, this was pure entertainment!

Let me apologize for Charlie Kohawk.  He is not a graduate of Coe College.  That is why he is unable to say anything objective, insightful, or interesting in his posts.  He is an employee of Coe who does not have much contact with the students at Coe.  Why someone who did not go to Coe would hijack our mascots name for his own use is beyond me.  Once he gets canned from Coe he will not care about the Kohawks one iota.  I understand that the IIAC is a great conference and deserves respect.  I competed for Coe and enjoyed getting to know and respect the other division III athletes I competed against.  Now, I love Coe and think it is a great institution, but I am not going to berate other schools and their facilities just to irritate and malign their fans.  I appreciate that Coe was invited to join the IIAC and thank the rest of the conference for their acceptance.
Go Kohawks!

That kid should have let the recruiting go on a little longer before letting the cat out of the bag.  At least try to get a free trip to one of the colleges before they figured things out.

These are just like those fights that break out in camp scrimmages...little ways to get the intensity level up before you strap it on for real.   As long as everybody keeps their helmets on, nobody really gets hurt.

We should vote on the best in-school catfight:
Coocoo vs. Charlie Kohawk
Purple Heys vs. Speedkills
Doolittle vs. WillieU  ;D

My vote has to be for CooCoo vs. CK.... most of the posts were laugh-out-loud funny!!

I'm glad we were able to entertain you. You'll be glad to know though that CooCoo and I have long since patched things up. I even stayed at his house during RAGBRAI last year. Birds of a feather stick together.

Thought for the day:

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some football teams or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I think this quote belongs on the Minny board.  Subsitute beer for the word Hamm's though.   ;D ;D ;D

Last year's record made me kind of forget about Coe. This year will tell if they've slipped down for good to a second-division team or is still a contender.

I am not sure that is entirely true.  I think there are also rans.  Teams that compete for most of the season then come up short.  Kind of middle of the road teams. Like the 4, 5 and 6 place teams.  4th isnt yet second division 5 is in the middle and 6 is kind of a coulda woulda shoulda type season.  I do agree though this could be a bench mark year for the Kohawks, as if they don't play and finish top 3 they may slip to the also rans.

Sorry SK I would have to put my money on WH.  No offense but I don't know to many media type guys that could take a big ole hoss lineman and come out on top.   ;D ;D ;D

Willie and I never really fought on here.  He's just called me out a few times for not being passionate enough for UD.  Not much of a fight by message board standards.  And this is just a message board.  If I ever saw Willie coming at me in person with an angry expression on his face you'd see me running in the opposite direction faster than you could say "pansy a$$ former pep band member" ;)  Of course, knowing Willies age, he could probably only chase me for a block or so before having to stop and catch his breath.  Then I'd probably be able to pacify him by offering beer and buffalo wings as a peace offering  ;D
